i think we played our best football last season with 3 at the back. i think with lucio being added it will help with rotation and caceres can drop into that back 3 if need be.

i think after giovinco's last season he is ready to step it up and play thst support striker role...vucinic is hot and cold to me and i think giovinco can create more and showed he can score goals as well.

With a striker and a left side player which would be an upgrade on DC, i think we have what it takes to challenge the best.

buffon
barzagli bonucci chiellini
caceres vidal pirlo marchisio *
** Giovinco

I choose caceres because i think he is better in that role than Lich and i havent watched enough of Isla to really know whether h eis better than caceres or not. For Caceres is a real weapon on the right, can create, can score goals..fast...has it all.

* = is Kolarov still available?
** = Cavani

Storari, Lucio, Isla, Lichsteiner, Asamoah, Marrone, Vucinic, Giaccherini, Pepe, Destro (i say go for him)

Goal.com had on article on us. It said that Juventus is just missing a key top striker in order for us to be a real contender for CL. They predicted this formation and players:

Buffon
(Storari)
Lichsteiner - Barzagli - Chiellini - De Ceglie
(Caceres) - (Bonucci) - (Lucio) - (Balz?/Chiellini)
Vidal - Pirlo - Asamoah
(Padoin) - (Marrone) - (Marchisio/Giaccherini)
Isla - X - Giovinco
(Pepe) (Matri) - (Vucinic)

3 things to point out:

1) Asamoah will not bench Marchisio automatically IMO. However Asamoah will get a lot of playing time and rotate in the midfield a lot.
2) I think Giovinco has to earn a starting spot, but I think he has it in him to do so.
3) Lets sign Balzaretti. :weee:

Giovinco is not better than Vucinic anyway.
Not better than Vucinic, not better than Pepe, not better than Jovetic.. Not better than anyone although he had a fantastic season and was better than all of them last year.

But sure, a lot of people will be proved wrong. The underrating is getting a bit ridiculous.

I think Giovinco should fight for a starting spot, but to say he doesn't deserve it or he's not up to the challenge is just laughable.

He will fight for a starting spot, of course he will. He was one of the best players in the league last season and literally lead a bad team to a great season and almost lead them to Europe, way better than anyone would have expected.

Some say that's small pond big fish mentality. Miccoli much?
I don't buy that theory for a second. How would one even prove that on a player?Playing good in a small team doesn't make you only good in small teams. Also, lets see how Giovinco does in Juventus before we start labelling him with the small pond big fish mentality.

He already did and showed it with us. Now we're giving him another chance.

So you're saying Giovinco is a better player than Vucinic?

He isn't and never has been.

We did. He didn't deliver much.
Stop it, we didn't, not under Ranieri or Ciro. Its a well known fact.
So you're saying Giovinco is a better player than Vucinic?

Individually he had the better season last year. I'll leave it at that, now if he's the better player under Conte or not is something none of us can prove until next season.

And I have no idea why you guys have all this animosity towards a player in our own squad. Why try to undermine what could be a great asset to Juventus? It seems to me that you guys are not interested in acknowledging that Juventus just got themselves a player who just last season had 15 goals and 11 assists and was receiving all kinds of praise. Instead ya'll are just looking for faults..

Giovinco did not really get a lot of minutes. I just checked his appearances and minutes. 08/09 he played roughly 50 minutes on average per game (27 games between serie a, coppa and cl), while in 09/10 he played only 40 minutes on average (19 games). That's less than Borriello and Estigarribia..

Maybe Giovinco didn't get his chance, because he wasn't good enough [back then]. Ever thought of that?

In the end talent won't be denied and it's Giovinco's time to prove himself.
