3-5-2 formations work well against the 4-4-2,which was the most popular formation around europe, but lately the 4-2-3-1 is becoming more and more the prefered formation.In theory the 3-5-2 does not come out well against the 4-2-3-1, it will be interesting to see how the team fare in europe against this type of formation.

With Isla back, Licht it's just too good to be benched. I think benching Bonucci would be the best for all.

Very interesting formation. It can easily be transformed into 433 if needed. Asamoah can drop back and Isla can play bit more up the pitch.

anyone know why the team abandon 4-3-3? can't believe if it just to accommodate bonucci I fear what will happen if we meet aggressive and fast teams in europe that are wingers oriented... no offense to our wingbacks but I just don't see them can handle against 2 oppositions on each flanks, especially if they against good players.

I think it is to do with how much hard work and pressing was required to make it work.

Juve never really learned how to rest in 4-3-3. They had to play flat out constantly.

I'm sure Juve could still pull 4-3-3 off occasionally, but they will fare better over the course of a season where they are playing two games a week, playing a slower, more controlled game.
