I watched the game after my post on ESPN 3 and do get the impression we got lucky in some instances. The offside trap may be a good alternative but we have to develop it further and perfect it. We have the pace in the back apart from Grygera but if Pepe can continue to cover that would be great.

The only real issue I have is with our wingers dedicating their lungs and feet to the entire pitch over a 52 game season I worry they will tire out or get injured and we dont have cover for Krasic in quality as stated earlier in this thread. We may be able to play De Ceglie in LM position when Pepe is out or tired to provide that defensive cover because I think he's better in that position (than LB) and shined a few times last season when placed there. Lanzafame needs some games in his cleats before we can judge him and he can prove his true potential...we need youngsters to shine like in other leagues and we should give him a chance.

I dont think Martinez plays on the right, so I'm kind of worried for that position. Maybe if Camo took a pay cut he could have been Krasic's cover. Although I really hope Martinez shines, his flair would be a nice touch to our team.

Did anyone notice Quagli was being a bit selfish and not providing DP that last pass that would have enabled him to score at least twice in the match?

Especially first half.
Both players are guilty of the same thing

Speaking of DP, it's a bit worrying that we have no good free kick or corner takers other than him. What to do when he's off the pitch?

Seems like Aquilani and Melo is the best option for CM.

But in my opinion Marchisio is to good to be on the bench. We could try him on the right back! Before all begins to downrate this idea, remember that Zambrotta also started as midtfielder.

I liked how DN for once kept the squad when we were 2-1 up during HT. I would've expected him to bring on Sissoko straight away. Didn't like the fact he seriously played 4 CB's. Any team with fullbacks (Chivu - Maicon) would rape this team. Motta needs to step his game up for now. When I saw him at Roma against Arsenal during the CL days under Spaletti he looked better than under Juve.

One thing is for sure, Juve shouldn't change from the flat 4-4-2 formation. The next Inter match is gonna be important for us, if we want to give this season some shape and color so far, it's a must win. It's going to be though, but I hope to see a DP-Quag frontline together with a Aquilani - Melo midfield.

I would try Marchisio at RB for sure. He's good in space, fantastic 1 on 1 tackler, good crosser. Plus, I think he's too brittle to play in the middle of the park.

He doesn't have the straight away pace that Zambrotta had though.

What about using Marchisio and Sissoko as wingbacks? That could be a temporay solution to our problems until we find proper replacement=?

Hey you never know, desperate situations call for desperate solutions.
We dont have what is needed to fix that mess at the back anyways.

Marchisio is a CM, Pepe is a winger, we need to invest in fullbacks, not try and look for the "new Zambrotta" because that's an extremely rare case, and he was (IMO) the best fullback in the world for a while.
