Villarreal have officially confirmed their interest in experienced Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi.

The Yellow Submarines, whose fourth placed finish made them the surprise package in La Liga last season, have offered Tacchinardi a contract and are awaiting the Italian's response.

Juventus manager Fabio Capello would allow Tacchinardi to leave on a free transfer after deciding that he no longer needs the services of the Italian, and the offer of UEFA Champions League football will be very tempting to the 30 year-old midfielder.

Villarreal are preparing for their first Champions League campaign, and coach Manuel Pellegrini is keen to recruit players with experience of playing in Europe's premier club tournament.

If Capello won't let him play, why should we still hold on to him?
He is a great player and he needs some playing time.
If Capello won't give him that, and Villareal will, then let him join Villareal!
Thanks for the wonderful memories Tacchi!!:touched::touched:

I think his time at Juve is more or less over. It will be the best for him to go. But we should not give him away for nothing. He is a good player and we should get 2m for him or even more.

Sad but true, his Juve-days seem to have come to an end.. :(

I always liked him, even last season he delivered when he "was allowed to". I truly wish him all the best and a lot of good games whereever he ends up.
