Turkish company MKEK displays its new national infantry rifle MPT-76
Turkey's Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation (Makina ve Kimya Endüstrisi Kurumu - MKEK) presents its new national infantry rifle MPT-76 at the International Defense Industry Equipment Exhibition MSPO 2014 which is held in Kielce (Poland) from the 1 to 4 September 2014. A first batch of 200 MPT-76 was delivered in May 2014 to the Turkish army for for testing and evaluation.

The new 7.62 mm chambered rifle is intended to become the Turkish Armed Forces' new standard infantry weapon, and has been developed under contract from the Turkish Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (Savunma Sanayii Müstesarligi - SSM) for the Turkish Army, which favours the 7.62 mm NATO round over the smaller 5.56 mm round.

MKEK MPT-76 is a modular rifle designed by Kalekalip and produced by MKEK to meet the demands of the Turkish Armed Forces and to replace its aging Heckler & Koch G3 battle rifles. After the first prototype was built in 2008 as an assault rifle firing 5.56×45mm NATO the rifle received negative feedback from Turkish soldiers testing it who reported that they preferred the 7.62×51mm NATO round which has far greater knockdown power and range.

The MPT-76 has a composite magazine made of polycarbonate material with 20-rounds capacity and high resistance. Thanks to the 7.62 mm round, its effective range reachs 600 m and the muzzle velocity 800 m/s. The rifle is equipped with telescoping, adjustable shoulder stock.

MPT-76's front sight is mounted on the gas block and features folding base. Integral Picatinny rail on top of the receiver can hosts aperture-type rear sight (fully adjustable for range and windage), as well as quick-detachable carrying handle with “see-through” channel for standard iron sights plus its own set of iron sights for short-range applications (with U-shaped notch rear sight), built into the top of the handle. Carrying handle can be easily replaced with any type of red-dot, telescope or night sight with appropriate mountings. Additional Picatinny rails on the forend permit mounting of various accessories. A knife-bayonet may be attached for the barrel, if required.

I don't follow it closely but apparently you are 4th in fiba ranking and we are 7th. So there is chance.
Our main and only point guard got injuried on the last friendly match before the Cup, so we are scraping through now. I wouldn't be surprised if we lost to you today, but hopefully that won't happen :)

Uzeyir Garih case is re-opened.

Who is he?
A Jewish and known Freemason businessman and a cofounder of Alarko Holding. Apparently he was killed in Muslim Eyüp Cemetery in 2001. Case was closed after some random drug addict sentenced to life imprisonment, who said he stabbed the guy because he refused to give him money.

He was stabbed several times from back and one of his eyes and heart has been taken out. Just like Talmud demands as punishment for Jews who turn away from their belief. There have been talks about him becoming a Muslim.

What was Uzeyir Garih doing Muslim Cemetery? His partner who is also a Jew, Ishak Alaton said: 'He was going to give money to a widow'

What does that mean?

'Lawrence of Arabia' figures still at work: Erdogan

Modern day ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ figures that aim to destabilize the entire region from within are still at play, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Monday.

The Turkish president made the reference to T. E. Lawrence, a British Army officer credited with instigating an Arab insurgency against the then Ottoman Turkish rule during World War I, in his address at Istanbul's Marmara University.

‘Lawrence of Arabia’ is also the name of an epic 1962-Hollywood movie that attempted to give an autobiographical account of the famous British “spy.”

"Lawrence was an English spy in Arab land. But currently, the spies are springing out from our own countries in the shape of a journalist, writer or even a terrorist. You can witness the new ‘Lawrences’ trying to set the region on fire," Erdogan said.

The Turkish head of state said that such “Lawrences” could also be seen in Turkey and its surrounding areas that claim of talking only about “voluntary service, freedom of expression and freedom of press, or saying independence war, unfortunately."

He said "the artificially-made" borders in the Middle East that were drawn by imperial powers after World War I were the “real cause of long-term pain and crises” in the region.

He said there should be no borders in the minds and hearts of the Middle Eastern people. He added that Turkey had its own part to play in the fight against sectarianism, ethnic divisions and all other divisions in the Middle East.

"Turkey is the only country that can provide peace in the region. Turkey is the hope of the Middle Eastern people. Turkey can remove the barriers between Middle Eastern people not by changing physical borders, but by instilling hope and trust," he said.

The Turkish president reiterated the state policy that the removal of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or the ISIL, terror group was not enough and that deposing of President Bashar al-Assad regime should be the main target.

The ISIL is currently advancing on the Syrian town of Kobani on the Turkish-Syrian border. An estimated 200,000 Syrian Kurd refugees have already fled into Turkey over the last three weeks.

"Syria has many Kobanis. What will happen to Aleppo, Latakia, Turkmen and other people after Kobani is saved?” he asked.

Erdogan again highlighted the necessity of forming a no-fly zone and a safe zone in Syria, along with continuing the U.S.-led international airstrikes on ISIL targets in Syria's north.

"The moderates should be trained and equipped either in Turkey or inside those safe zones, so they can conduct their war against the Assad regime."

He also criticized the Kurdistan Workers’ Party's claims the Turkish government was doing nothing to halt the advance of the ISIL in Kobani, which sparked last week's protests in Turkey that killed 34 people.

He also criticized the People's Democratic Party, or the HDP, for its call to people to come out on the streets on the pretext of supporting Kobani.

This creature is a deputy of main opposition party chp which is laicist. It says ''We owe everything we have to you(atajew).''

Unlike what they teach in schools, being an atheist doesn't make you progressive, neither beign a religious person means you're backward.

Turkish girl dies in Germany after attack by thugs

Germany's President Gauck says Tugce Albayrak "had demonstrated civil courage."

Thousands of people gathered outside a hospital to celebrate the 23rd birthday of Tugce Albayrak, who was beaten by a group of thugs into a coma in Offenbach near Frankfurt city of Germany, hours before her family decided to turn off life support machine.

More than 5,000 people lit candles and prayed for Tugce who bravely responded to calls for help from two young girls when they were harrassed by a group of men in a Mac Donald's restaurant on Nov. 15 and has been in hospital for about two weeks.

Germany's president Joachim Gauck offered his condolences to Albayrak family, saying Tugce "has deserved Germans' respect and gratitude".

"The whole country is mourning with you; she will always be a model," Gauck said.

“While many others looked away, Tugce had demonstrated civic courage in an exemplary manner," he added.

German public was shocked with Tugce's death and more than 100,000 people have signed an online petition asking an "Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany" - the only federal decoration of the country - to be given to Tugce Albayrak, posthumously.

Tugce Albayrak, a German student of Turkish descent was brutally beaten in a parking lot by three men of Serbian origin after she confronted them, responding to calls for help from two young girls aged between 13 and 16 in the toilet area of the restaurant.

She slid into a vegetative state on Nov. 26 with brain hemorrhage but her family preferred waiting for her 23rd birthday for turning off the life support.

Tugce's organs have been donated by her family.

An 18-year-old man was arrested by German police in connection with Tugce's death.
