Most of us here were always anti American intervention in the Arab worlds affairs. Not in this case though. Forza Robert Ford!

To see the peaceful protests and the freedom of speech Syria is famous for?

The government knew they went, but they could do nothing to stop them. It wasn't just US ambassador, the French and other dignitaries went along as well. I guess the government decided to send a message.

Rab, they went on Thursday.
Of course they knew about it, there is no way he could reach there without the government knowledge.

The regime tried to benefit from the situation by accusing the people of Hama with treason and that they are supported by America.

As far as I know, it's not his business to do so. this is an internal affair.
Believe me I don't know when he went there, I'm not following the events there :D

So you are implying he didn't go?! or that he went with the approval of the government?
The 2nd part.

It's not worth starting an endless argument, where you'll say they are peaceful protests while I'll say the opposite.
You just said you weren't following the events. How could you possibly know if they are peaceful protests or not.

I haven't said either way. But "peaceful protest" is a pretty broad statement. What my culture deems as peaceful protest differs from your idea of peaceful protest.

A group of actors and actresses today made a peaceful demonstration in Damascus to ask for respecting people and not to kill people. Of course, the only result was arresting those who took part in it. I always respected this lady who was arrested today

It was so tense today and a huge participation.

At only two cities, more than 1 million took part in demonstrations.

The death toll reached 32 according to revolution sources.

And the actress May Skaf became an icon for the revolution because she is still at jail because she called for freedom.

Today 10 civilians at Homs city and 3 civilians at Al-Qaseer town near Lebanese borders were killed. People are trying to reach the Lebanese borders to run away from the tanks but they are forbidden from doing so.

A brutal attack on Hamah city since this morning. Since the morning, tanks entered the city from the four sides.

Reuters agency describes what is happening as very violent saying that the number of civilians killed so far is around 22.

This is the same city which was bombarded by the father of this criminal on the early 80s where around 20000 people were killed. People did not forget that yet.
