In a statement read out on state TV (and repeated three times), the government says:
"Over the past Fridays there were a lot of demonstrations in which armed groups used weapons to kill people and security forces - and though we understand that protesting is a right of the population, we can no longer allow chaos to take place and official buildings to be destroyed. So we will use all the means to stop the chaos from taking place."

The French were not invading us, the French intervened in the nick of time and prevented a massacre from happening. Gedaffi's forces reached the Western part of Benghazi, the rebels barely held them back. A few more days and they would have entered Benghazi, and we all know how bad that would have been, there is no doubt that Gedaffi would have massacred the people of Benghazi.
Erdogan has been an obstacle in front of saving civilians in Libya. Theres a reason why Libyans are protesting in front of the Turkish embassy in London, theres a reason why the ship that the aid ship sent by the Turkish government to Benghazi was rejected and told to go back. Libyans are extremely frustrated by Erdogans stance. More so, because he was someone that we in the Arab world, and Libya included of course, respected very much. I can guarantee you that he was the most loved politician before these events, but right now he is one of the most hated ones, and imo with good reason. He might be a good politician in Turkey, and he might be loved by the Turks, i won't disagree with that, you guys know him more than we do. As for me and the rest of the Libyans, we judge him based on his stance on the Libyan situation.

Its really sad to witness the same in every Arab country where a revolution breaks out, the first regime act is to scatter mobs and gangs of their own to terrify and kill both protesters and civilians alike. They just don't learn from their neighbor's mistakes or just choose not to.

In this case no. Turkey has 15Bn invested in Libya, 15Bn that Erdogan is so scared for, he wants more than anyone else for Gedaffi to stay. Him recommending that the Libyan people taking up the governments offer of Saif Il Islam leading a transitional Libya is a slap on the face to all Libyans. The man who came on Tv before his father did, the man who threatened the Libyans by telling them either accept our rule or get ready for war, the man who used his index finger to threaten the Libyans on live TV and called them rats and terrorists. Erdogan's mere suggestion that we look at the offer is a slap in the face. Its like our transitional council said, we will never forget Erdogan's ashaming stance in the Libyan case. Never.
Oh not to forget when Gedaffi's forces reached the outskirts of Benghazi, and were on the verge of committing a massacre, before the coalition forces intervened, Erdogan coldly came out on TV and opposed the intervention. Do you know that if he had it his way, we'd have heard of a human disaster happening in Benghazi.
