Swedish news paper Aftonbladet has written an article where they
give german BILD ZEITUNG as source, I'm not 100% sure but think
they are as full of $hite like the English The Sun
(which is another news source aftonbladet like to use, pathetic!)

The villain caught on camera!!!

It seems that before the Extra time was to begin R. Makaay made a
visit to the rest room without asking the referee or the 4th referee for
permission.

''What Makaay did should had earned him a yellow card.
Later during the game he got another Yellow so he should
had been sent off by then"

- What makes it a deal that he would get a 2nd yellow, if he had already
one, perhaps he wouldn't had made that tackle!

Head of Swedish FA, Lars-Åke Lagrell
"I don't want to behave like an italian"
"it was obvious that referee Lubos Michel didn't have control of the game"
"not only he missed Makaays sneaking out to the toilet, but during the
penalty shoot out he let too many unauthorized people being on the pitch
and Van der Saar didn't behave properly either"

- Thank god he said he didn't wanna behave like an Italian!

They also talk about what Makaay did could also lead to a negative
test result if he was being tested for doping after the game!
fair and valid point I guess!

I'm sure that Uefa will look in to this matter, a hearing with Makaay.
The worst thing is he will be fined and tested!?

btw.

So when italians react angrily to pictures of Swedes and Danes dancing, kissing showing signs of 2-2, nordic victory and etc. they are pathetic!
But when a picture like this comes and they call the Dutch's for cheaters
then it's nothing but great journalistic...

The question is not so much what exactly is being printed, cause you got poor journalist practice all over the place. The question is whether the people buy it. Just because one Swedish paper prints that story, that doesn't automatically mean the general feeling among the Swedish people is that they were cheated.

well it's not just a paper, it's swedens most popular paper!
And I agree poor journalistic is all over the place! When the
head of Swedish FA start it by saying I don't wanna behave like
an Italian it pretty much says what kind of effect media has over here!
While "Simon Bank" jokes about if the nordic derby ends 2-2
the army should be called in Kristina Kappelin living in Rome was interviewing italians and most of them were saying that it's gli azzurri's
own fault being in this scenario! And after the game most ppl. had the
same view! Sure they could/were thinking the 2-2 was a "biscotto"
but they blamed their team before talking about that game!!!

the general view in Sweden is!

Italians play dirty, they are cry babys and play Anti Football!
And their fans are just blaiming everyone and everything except their own team!

England stands for great offensive magic football

and as the swedish NT concerned they are playing
the best football after the resources and even if it's boring it's Italy that are the detestable!

maybe in the toilet makaay was replaced with wanking gorilla which is unstoppable on scoring penalties. which led to elimination of swedes. besides, gorilla scared mellberg to death and thus he missed his penalty. certainly uefa needs to look closer into this.

I have to say there are some bad losers in this tournament.

We lost four times on penalties and were eliminated from major tournaments as a result. Never did we blame the ref or the other team or wanking gorillas :)D). This is so sad...

Alittle different though. I mean when you lose on penalties its the teams fault really isnt it.

And England just joined Holland as the teams that have lost most Penalty shootouts :wallbang: :D

Erik,

Listening to the radio this morning there was a somewhat heated debate as to whether the netherlands really won the shoot out or whether they did indeed score an illegal goal

It was quite interesting with many experts both in support and against the questioned penalty.

What is your view of it?

Yeah but which one? I mean, if there was a doubtful penalty then it was Ljungberg's. I think it was a clear shoot-out by the book :undecide:

They were discussing the slightly unclear UEFA rule that during a penalty shoot out... the moment the ball ceases travelling forwards it is out of play
