Del Piero for me.
He started really bad. He was slow, he was holding the ball to much and losing it at the end. That's why he even lost the starting place for a while.
Then he signed a new contract and it was that Genoa game where he scored the only goal that was the turning point. After that he was one man team for most of the time (with the exception of few games after Camo's comeback)

Chiellini is another one. Personally, i always saw a much better Cb than a Lb in Giorgio but the difference in our defensive displays with or without Giorgio at the center proves how important and how good Chiellini is.

Sissoko and Zanetti weren't a big surprise for me, even though they did play better than i initially expected, especially the former.

I don't know why many don't mention it but Legrotagllie was a disaster in last couple of months. What Cassano was doing to him yesterday was just a reminder that Legro isn't anything close to a good defender.
He was surprisingly good in half of the matches he played, so he gets thumbs up for the season, but i'm convinced that we'll suffer a lot if we don't put someone else to partner Chiellini is the center of the defense.

Brazzo did exactly what i expected from him so no surprise here. I love his versatility.

Iaquinta on the other hand did surprise me. He won the hearts of the fans in the opening match of the season already. I knew he was a strong forward but i didn't know he was such a fighter that never gives up.

Camoranesi may as well be mentioned, but the only surprise here is that even though he missed huge part of the season and some thought his career is coming to an end, he has shown again how influental he is for this team.
Amazing player and if we had him for at least 34-35 matches i think we would have been fighting for the scudetto in last 3 rounds.

Legrottaglie, without a doubt! I thought he was a finished player, but than he really showed great defending, and formed a proper duo with Giorgio!

- Salihamidzic; didnt surprise me, i didnt expect any more or any less than a half decent sub...

- Sissoko; was very impressive, i was against his arrival here, only because we had other priorities then, same goes for Amauri know. We made a great investment on Sissoko and the less i expected to see is the promise he has shown. I will be really impressed when i see consistency and maturity in his play the next seasons to come! He had a great impact though and adapted pretty fast!

- Legrotaglie; was lasts's season surprise, he already proved he had grown mature enough to read the game and make the maximum of his physique, he had his upd and downs and he is a decent sub to keep.

- Chiellini; maybe i expected too much from him, but i wasnt surprised, i have seen Chiellini growing in a top defender and i am confident that he will become even better and prove that, at the highest levels ( CL ). But i still believe he is too clumsy for a CB and he better fits the LB position, he was lucky not get more red cards than he did so far. From the start of the season i considered him to be our best defender no matter what position he plays.

- Zanetti; After all the things i saw from him, last year i wouldnt expect any less, last year i was thrilled from his performances and this year he proved than he can be as good in the serie A. He even helped the team going forward when it mattered the most. I think Zanetti was out there to prove smth and he made a point!

-Neddy; who thought that this guy should retire a couple of seasons ago and he handle the pace of the league anymore?? Who would have thought that he still is out most decisive player and the reason we lost most of our matches were that he was absent?? Who would have thought he is above every law of the nature and that the time has no effects upon him?? Who would have thought that the crazy horse Molinaro (the real surprise of the season) has less stamina than the old horse Nedved??

- Del Piero; DP always managed to find a way to raise against difficulties, take Juve from the hand and lead her to victory, tougher times request more miracles from our miracle man. DP cant surprise me, there is nothing that he cant do!
Scoring more goals in both than Treze has happened before but scoring more goals than everybody else in the league, this year,
is smth that i wouldnt bet, no matter the odds!!

Personally, I think Iaquinta has been the surprise of the season as he really did shock us with some superb performances early on. His injury was unfortunate though.

In that list, I would have to pick C.Zanetti. He has been phenomenal for us and I honestly didn't expect him to have such a huge impact with Juve especially after being thrown away so cheaply by Inter. He was for most of the season, one of our best players along with Camo and Alex. Definitely the most pleasant surprise of the season for me.

Legro, Sissoko, Iaquinta, and Del Piero were all good surprises this season. Most critical of all I'd have to say is Legro, because our CB situation was a disaster and we had to rely on a Bidone d'Oro winner to get it done. And he did well.

it the whole team!
we have the spirit that can kill any teams!
sometimes i think Juventus spirit is more important than a single player's ability

TBH, the biggest surprise was Sissoko, no one can deny that. I didn't actually spit on him when we signed him but I did grab my head in desperation. Than after only two games I fell in love with the guy. Such heart, stamina, and energy, but most of all, such finesse in tackling. I swear he makes tackling look so good, it outta be put in a Joga Bonito video.

I really expected a butcher worse than Gattuso in his early days, instead we got a true warrior worthy to be Davids' heir. I hope he continues this way next season.

I can't say that Sissoko is the biggest surprise of the season because I knew he was capable of some fierce tackling. He was always capable of this sort of play, so to me it wasn't surprising per say. But yeah, he performed much better than I thought. Not necessarily a surprise though because I knew what he was capable of.
