Why would we renovate the stadium ?

I think he means to expand it to a larger number of seats, which i also agree we should, i’ve always been of the opinion that the ~41k seats limits the potential of a club with such historic stature(nevermind the additional financial gains from extra seats and extra fans buying stuff around the stadium)… although now perhaps it might not seem like it would make much of a difference given our current banter era status but overall i’d say it has been limiting us even through the 9x scudetto era and beyond.

Because we can’t sign players an EPL team wants, even if it’s Brentford or so. As soon as we compete with a EPL team for a signature we have 0 chance

And solution is to sign flops? I disagree. We need to focus on young Italian players and build a core around them. We have missed a lot of talent in recent years to Inter and Milan. France is also where we should look as well. Just stay away from overhyped EPL players.

The stadium should be renovated if reports are true (don't know where this is coming from though)

We have maxed out our revenues with this 41k seater which is too small for JJ
Why did you build it so small to begin with?

41k is not a tiny stadium, but it's small compared to other big clubs. There's a reason Liverpool needed to expand Anfield two times, simply because they were being left behind in the PL and Chelsea is in the same situation. Juventus should've had a 60k stadium at least imo.

Allianz Arena was expanded a little handful of times, and even now with a 75k seater stadium it wouldn't hurt to get closer to 90k. Although that's not going to happen for multiple reasons, but Bayern could easily fill it out every matchday.

Chelski is such a disgusting club through and through honestly. Everything about that club.

Ah I see thx! Well a 50k seater would be nice but depends on costs and how it would effect the current stadium etc.

Well we can’t even sign young Italian talents - see Leoni or calafiori etc. as soon as there is a bit of hype they are off to EPL.

Juve couldnt fill out Delle Alpi that had 65k capacity and that was when we were among top 2-3 clubs in the world, except for derbies. Our average attendance went from 40k to 26k in 2005/06, the last season we played at old stadium. They probably were considering 40k would be enough and revenue could be adjusted with pricing. However, Delle Alpi had poor visibility, running track and not enough content around the stadium. Right now we would not have an issue filling out 55-60k. We should be moving in this direction asap.

delle alpi was a ~70k stadium with an average attendance of well below 25k (transfermarkt is wrong here, that capacity belongs to the current stadium)

the decision to build a new one was made in 2008

the club must have realized in hindsight that ideal size of the new stadium should have been around 55k i guess

Our finances are a bit of a mess after years of buying expensive players, while return on the pitch was poor. We could have absolutely signed those 2 if we were in better shape, financially. Italian players will always, most of them, prefer to stay at home and we need to be in this position again to poach every young local talent before other clubs. This summer I see as a year 0 lol. Sort out finances by getting rid of the deadwood and improving the salary structure. Could we have done better this summer on the market regardless of the above? Ofc but we are always too late. We are simply not run well enough relative to competition.

I read when Moggi was around, he wanted an even lower capacity like 30K lol

I really hope they're thinking of increasing capacity to 55-60K
Giraudo wanted 24k seater lmao.

We played 5 years (2007-2011) at Olimpico, that has cca 28k capacity.

I have an inkling that if Vlahovic stays. We might even bring back Chiesa on the final day of the market. Especially if Isak joins Liverpool...
I dont think we will. Personally.

No point, we'll just populate it with more away fans who are louder because the ultras are on strike every other week. Even the last 2 times I went to Curva sud it wasn't even full.
