Hinting is one thing, we can't hold a player in reserve to sign at the end of the transfer window in case the diva leaves, and we can't sign the player beforehand in case the diva stays, because he's earning more than 5 players combined and will be central to any team.

Ronaldo should have put his request in earlier in the window. But then the transfer market is not linear, he might well have had no options he liked until United showed up later. Putting the feelers out for a move is normal in the market now but it doesn't always lead to a move. Ronaldo fucked us but it's not completely his fault, sometimes it just happens that the "dream move" (lmao) happens later on. By then we have much fewer choices.
Ok, I will give you that. What about the rest? Do you like our so called operations in the market? I am sure that there is an argument for every stranfe decision but let's not go there and evaluate as is.

The lack of defined starting fullbacks concerns me every summer tbh. It's like we accept what we've got as we have lots of options on paper and rather than sell them to make space for a starter we don't see it as a priority position. Danilo, Cuads, MDS can play on the right. AS, Pellegrini, MDS, Danilo can play on the left. The club seem to think that is fine. Say we have Danilo and AS as the starters next season, that will only be fine if you have exceptional wide players in front of them, then you can get away with fullbacks who don't regularly go beyond 60 or 70 yards.

So this brings us to the formation and what we will actually play. Who is playing on the left side of attack? Is it Di Maria or do we fudge it with Morata until Chiesa returns, and ADM is on the right with Cuadrado? An issue for next summer as they are both old.

The other big issue this summer is how De Ligt is replaced. Tbh that will make or break the season.

The defence is fine

We finished 4th, took 37 goals and look at that; that was fourth in the league. It's not in top condition but it's being exaggerated immensely. We're one CB away from the best defence in Serie A.

Pellegrini will be our starting LB, as it stands, which isn't ideal but some realism is needed. We don't have 40 mil to spend on Lodi or whatever guy you want...

One CB away from the best defense in the league when we are about to lose De Ligt along with Chiellini and have fullbacks who continue to get horrible by each passing season..... Man just stop spouting nonsense.

De Ligt is still here, Chiellini was a non-factor last season anyway. And Danilo/Cuadrado is a perfectly fine duo in Serie A as RBs.

Let's say we ad Pau Torres or Gabriel. Which team has a better defence than Pellegrini, Pau, De Ligt, Danilo/Cuads?

I only count De Ligt out when he's out. It will probably happen but only then we'll see his replacement too without complaining before anything happens. If we don't replace him adequately, then there will be time enough to complain...

You can complain about the Locatelli deal taking forever.
Don't know why? We didn't have a penny to spend, he was ready when the season started and came at a very good price. Having him a month earlier wouldn't have changed shit.

I'm surprised I haven't seen any proper links to richer clubs for Josep Juranovic. He starts for Croatia and plays for Celtic. Luckily (as a Celtic fan) he seems to be absolutely loving life in Glasgow atm, but the guy is a baller and must surely be on the radar of several teams. Plays full back on both sides and also at DM. Takes corners and penalties, got a great cross and can beat his man, and is solid in 1v1s defensively as well. He has been known to make some poor decisions but that as slowly gotten better as the whole team has settled (last year we brought in like 15 first team players).

I hope he stays at Celtic a while as he's one of the stars in an exciting squad I wanna see play Angeball in Europe, but a big move for him is inevitable.

I still don't get why we didn't snap up Kostic. The rumoured fee was 15m. That's a solid deal for an option on the left, which as you say we'll probably need in the first team until January.

still not proved in a bigger league, so clubs like Juve wont jump on such a guy. I saw him at Legia and can agree he is a very good player, hope he develops even better at Celtic.

That was with Chiellini and De Ligt. Both are gone.

You are in for a surprise if you think Pellegrini will start ahead of Alex Sandro.

Zinchenko for 35m eur to Arsenal - could try to offload Pellegrini for 10-15m and collect some money on other sales. But yeah, beign realistic, it wont happen, we are stuck with Sandro for next season and as I said im still hoping for a suprise from him - this guy on last year of his contract will probably fight to show himself and get some last good contrct offer when the current one ends. I wouldnt be suprised if we see super motivated Sandro because of this and he can show he still has it in him.
Nothing motivates brazilian player as much as the possibility to get fat contract for the retirement.

To get a new LB Pelle or Sandro have to come out.

Zaniolo is on standby, they're playing the Locatelli card with him, trying to force Roma to do it on our terms. In the end he will come IMO

And still the issue of Arthur, Ramsey, Rabiot and what to do with all the young guys in midfield, who stays and who goes.

Lot of shit to fix still, but so far the team is better than last year

We have 30 players in the team, we must sell/loan out some first

I think its 29 in the squad currently, but:
Pjaca OUT
Kaio Jorge OUT
Ramsey OUT
Arthur OUT
Ake OUT
Dont think we will sell any of these. Pjaca on loan, Ake and Kaio moved to the U23 probably, Ramsey rescind contract, only Arthur is an issue. I also hope we are able to sell Rabiot.
and its really not that full, but there is no balance between midfield and attack, too many midfielders currently.

What about Bonucci, Rugani and Gatti?
Rugano 10-20th place team level starter.
Bonucci should be a backup probably a roma/Lazio level player.
Gatti is a? mark.

Our only hope for a good defence is for Allegri to find some kind of a defending system in which the whole is stronger than the individuals that compose it.
