ok, I can actually understand that… so I give you the question…

That money that we are saving by bringing this players for free… is to invest in who exactly?

Cause we are not bringing SMS… so in who are we investing?
Even players signed for "free" are investments. They take a part of your yearly budget just like any other player does. You are not necessarily saving money by signing these players, you're simply investing all the money into wages instead of splitting it between the transfer fee and the wage.

He's a a dynamic mid with plenty of heart and technique. And he's 27. What's exactly the downside here sourpuss?
Dynamic? He has scored a total of 3 goals in 113 appearances for PSG and provides, on average, 1 or 2 assists PER SEASON! Color me impressed. He is currently injured and has an expiring contract in 2023, so if we are so desperate for someone like him, which we most definitely shouldn't be, we can reach some sort of agreement in January.

Another potential faggot who will command high wages and offer absolutely nothing in the final third.

Absolutely, me included. Before the WC *edit* EURO i didn't realize how good he is

His workrate is immense and he would improve our midfield by a lot...
Its new trend here to hate on Jorginho, but this is the guy who was part of the midfields that won EURO and CL and he is better than any of our current midfielders by a mile. Though i agree that if he cost 30m+ then we should be looking at someone younger.

So, you want a guy who's entering the twilight of his career and lacks dynamism to come n on 6+ million wages, potentially on a 4 year contract?! Fuck that noise! We don't need that many fucking geezers, and no, we don't need a motherfucking regista. Fuck experience if it means we sacrifice youth and just invest in the short-term.

What makes u think he is entering twilight of his career? He is 30yo who never really relied on dynamism but wise movements and clever passing, he can easily play until he is like 34yo.
I dunno what wages he will get, but he is at Chelsea for 4 years already so he should be able to also benefit from the tax rules, which means his 6m will be cost of like 4m (for club) for domestic player.
If thats the case then i realy dont have a problem with him coming here, its probably a wiser move than signing injury prone Pogba, even if im a fan of Paul.

also, why i do think he can play till even mid thirthies? look at this:

This guy is a machine when it comes to injuries.

He's a holding midfielder. Dynamic =/= goals & assists. Are you drinking bong water again?

You want fagjinho to be our key signing in midfield? Fuck that. He's such an underwhelming player, and we should be doing SO MUCH better.

That's my point. He's not dynamic. He's more static than dynamic in my book. Sure, he can pass, but he hardly pushes forward and isn't really going to improve link-up play with our forwards. I don't understand the fascination of Tuzzers with other team's garbage/trash.

Is he better than Fagiot and Arturd? Sure, but then 99% of midfielders are.

Again, he'll be taking up space and wages he doesn't deserve.

That's simply not true. He's an intelligent midfielder who presses, runs and opens up the play. In my book he's quality and a type we sorely lack - so I'd be open to signing him and watching him compete for a starting spot.

There are some wild takes here.

Singing Jorginho immediately revives our midfield. Not only does he has much better vision and understanding of the game than any our current midfielders, but he also leads in the mid and organizes the game. There is a reason why he has been a key player for Tuchel, Mancini, and Sarri winning the CL and euros as a protagonist, and why Guardiola wanted to sign him from Napoli. He also has a stellar injury record.

To quote Verratti, who said basically it doesn't matter who plays as long as Jorginho is there: "He makes everything very simple and there aren't many with his characteristics. He makes the team run at a tempo that allows his teammates to perform at their best"

Or his Chelsea like Havertz recently describing he is one of the best he has played with and that Jorginho makes his job easier since he always knows what to do with the ball.

Why have seen many players shine next to him, and we have seen Jorginho-Locatelli already. Add an attacking mezzala like Pogba or SMS and we'd have a great midfield trio again after a long time.

You are sounding like he is the Italian De Jong.Slow predictable sideways passing merchant I can understand why some prefer Paredes over Jorginho as we need somebody with a good passing range as a regista to stretch teams out.

We don't need a regista. It's not imperative. Can we just play more modern progressive football FFS?!
There seems to be a lot of misconception about what a regista is and what coaches mean.

What is modern progressive football to you? almost every top coach in football moved from a classic DM to a regista in the last decade. A regista is simply the player that plays in front of the defense and has the added responsibility to connect the defense a attack/mid by passing. Coaches would use a "classic" DM like Makelele or Kante before in front of the defense and would suffer when pressed at the back. So as teams started pressing the first ball in unison most coaches looked towards the idea of a playmaker in front of the defense, the same thing as a regista.

The CL final last year was played by Tuchel and Pep, and both had Jorginho and Gundogan in front of the defense. Bayern won last year with Thiago Alcantara in that role.

Of course you can play with a more classic DM there, like Madrid with Casemiro, but say that "modern progressive football" is about playing DMs is pretty contradictory.
