Yes, 10 years ago 1 guy did it. That's how exceptional it is. Let's not get carried away and assess him the right way.

Same can be said about our youngster playing vital role in serie B promotion - last time it happened was 10 years ago and it was Immobile if i recall correctly - he did it together with Verratti and Insigne, all of them became very good players.
But seriously, why give ur best prospect to a team who really has no interest in developing him (if its a dry loan), take care of him yourself because all u can buy is another Rabiot or Arthur, even if he fails u will save some money on this decision

They (Fagioli etc) don’t have to be huge difference makers from the beginning, as we lack both starters and decent quantity on the bench.

for those name mentioned? Fuck it, sell Arthur and bring back Fagioli for him. In season 12/13 Verratti was transferred directly from Serie B to PSG and managed to play 2500 minutes with them reaching quearter final of CL aged 21. Dunno if Fagioli was as good as Marco in B, but he deserves to be given a chance.

Not discrediting Fagioli's talents but Verratti moving to a farmers league and the strongest team in the league is different to stepping up to a competitive league and playing for a team in transition.

My guess (hope?) is that SMS is the #1 target and if Lotito is too much of a dickhead they'll pivot to Pogba. But at the same time the entire cost of the Pogba operation would still be cheaper than the SMS one, no? The agent fee + wages should be less than the transfer fee + wages + agent fee of SMS

McKennie is probably the easiest to sell, hopefully he comes back before the season ends and shows hes healthy. Feel like Arthur will be loaned out with some sort of option/obligation. Rabiot's wages are a joke but he's had a pretty solid season, maybe someone will bite. It also seems like multiple managers rate him for whatever reason.

Yeah i also don’t expect Rabiot to be leaving anywhere this summer given his wages but i do imagine we will be looking to move on Arthur as a priority and it’s probably going to be the best for everyone involved, ofc best case scenario would be to somehow get rid of both at once to free out wages and just start a proper rebuild of the midfield but given the fact that’s quite unlikely to happen then i’d be ok with at least one of them freeing up space for a new midfield reinforcement to come in and i guess in the grand scheme of things the one that is more fit and could actually contribute more for us during a long season would be Rabiot.

McKennie remains a question mark and i wouldn’t be surprised if we eventually turn to him to raise some funds but i think that at least for this summer mercatto it will not be the case.

Nothing to do with his personality or his social media tantrums. He looks lazy, unprofessional and has a poor work ethic when he plays for United. This is why he is heavily criticized in the United circle.

I'm sorry man, but this guy's nearly 30. If he was serious about his career, he would've left United long ago than staying in the same dressing room that is apparently affecting his performances.
Even more of a reason to avoid him.

Btw it was United that rejected the chance to extend his contract. I'm pretty sure Pogba would've been happy staying over in the same toxic dressing room and collecting a fat paycheck while doing the bare minimum.

Maybe you're right, there have been rumors for a while of him leaving, every summer. So who knows who's really the one holding on to the other, it was probably mutual.

One thing I know is his on ball ability is miles above any current mid we have, so he would definitely be an immediate improvement. Do we have better options other than him? Maybe, there is a number of players I'd take before him. But if they value the young players coming in and want to give them room, then a short term like Pogba can be better than a long term project. Sergej would be best ofcourse, in his prime and some great 5-7 years ahead of him, but I don't know if we can afford. Other players like Jorginho, Paredes, Partey, are a notch below, and some class young ones like Tielemans, Neves, De Jong could also be out of our price range. Then you have the youngsters from Italy like Frattesi, Ilic, who I'd both take, but would also cost some 30M
