This. Here we are fapping to forwards while our mid is still utter shit.

Focus on building a strong midfield for once GODAMNIT.
And defense too.

As I said, we don't need to replace Dybala. Rebuild our spine. Get the team to develop a consistent pattern of play with better midfielders and then we can focus on a big signing in attack a year or two later.

Milan are winning the league with Giroud, Leao and Saelemakers

Barca destroyed Madrid with two EPL rejects leading their attack

City are dominating teams by playing midfielders as CF's

Common theme among all these teams is they have a functional midfield

Get some high energy midfielders that can press and most importantly that can pass. How hard is it ffs

Targeting players like Salah would be Tici Galactico's era extended version.

:agree:

We just bought the third best young striker in the world. 18 months ago we bought one of the best young attacking wingers in football. We still have Cuadrado. Penny pinch on back up attackers. Fix the fucking midfield (and the LB position) before blowing big sums on any more attacking players.

There is still Szczęsny, Sandro and Bonnuci to offload. Crazy wages for mediocre players.
That list doesn't seem accurate. I think De Ligt is joint highest paid player in Serie A.

Sandro, Bonucci and Tek's salaries are all on the high side indeed. None of them should be here by 2023.

Or is De Ligt's gross salary less because of the tax break? afaik he was signed before the new rule came into play.

For the de Ligt i think he applies to the new rule, that's why it's so low.

Zaniolo and Raspadori should replace Kean, Bernardeschi and Morata maybe. Dybala’s replacement must be a proven player from a tier above imo.

But I would take this attack (Zaniolo Raspadori Vlahovic Cuadrado Chiesa Morata/backup attacker) if we buy Jorginho+a wc box to box mid

Why do we need a Dybala replacement? Get a top midfielder that can join the attack, SMS type or Vidal type. Once Chiesa is back, play 4-3-3 with Cuadrado-Vlahovic-Chiesa. If we sign someone like Zaniolo, he can rotate with Cuadrado and Chiesa.

So 7 out of the top 10 highest paid are Juve players. Unfortunately, 3 of these don’t deserve this pay - AS, Tek and Bonbon. No wonder we're so broke.
Btw, what is Romagnoli doing in the top 10?

due to the tax benefit for non-italian residents, the top list for gross and net salaries are different. romagnoli earns 5.5 net, which is a lot for him, but it doesn't put him on the top10 net list. ramsey and rabiot are joint 3rd on the net list, not even top10 on the gross.

here are both top10's:

Salah is nice and dandy, we can even have prime messi and prime Cr7 and we'd still shit the bed if we keep this mediocre midfield. Fix the midfield asap

Chiesa-Vlahovic-Salah would be :tuttosport::tuttosport::tuttosport::tuttosport::tuttosport::tuttosport:
