I thought there were rumors early in June that Allegri had told Bonucci he wasn't a starter anymore on this squad and would be more of the third-man in line for the CB position.

And we were looking for a CB before De Ligt was aggressively being sought by Chelsea/Bayern. So we were looking to acquire a starting level CB before losing De Ligt, I'd imagine we're looking to acquire two now.

So late in the offseason is what worries me. Less than a full month to get acclimated to the squad and Allegri.

Swap De Ligt on 12m wages for Bremer on 4m wages is the way to do it.

De Ligt was an expensive luxury signing at the time and hopefully we're understanding that now.

Torres and Bremer could cost in transfer fee/wages the same as De Ligt by himself. Probably significantly less in wages. 4m + 4m v 12m.

Good business if it happens.

Idk if Bremer is the real deal or not but before we have the power of hindsight, this seems like a great deal. He's currently a better defender than De Ligt on much less wages and will cost less than we sold DL for.

I'd rather chuck the remaining money on full backs rather than Zaniolo but whatever. I guess we need both
