If I were in charge of transfer I'd go balls deep to bring back Vidal on a 3 year deal. We lack a destroyer/tackler, prolific scorer and playmaker in our midfield.. Well Vidal is all those 3 combined in 1. His transfer fee might not be too excessive as Barca wants get rid of him.
With: Danilo, Demi, Chiello, Rabiot, Ramsey, Kulu, Berna and Kean on the bench

Okay, then why are they terminating him? Like some said, his qualities are not in question here, he might even score 25 goals in 35 games next season if he comes to Serie A or he might suck and get a career ending injury on a nice evening at the Olympico in Rome.
He doesn't fit Barca's project, if they even have one, and surely doesn't fit ours. We lost a year that could have been used as a start for a rejuvenation, now with the young staff it's about time to get rid of the oldies and bring young faces, so once again it's just my opinion that a highly potential youngster is better than an established and decorated 33+ y old player (obviously with the exception of say Messi and Lewandowski).
And don't really want to start a discussion on hypotheticals, but even if I agree that Kean is average, we don't really need someone that can be trusted to start a lot, we already have that someone with the number 10 on his back, we need his backup that is also the Plan B or Plan C. Or this is what I think the club needs atm, which is irrelevant as what matters here is what Pirlo thinks and wants, since he is yet to debut as a manager it's all a game of guessing...

You essentially want to rejuvenate the squad with a 33 yr old and a 34 yr old filling key positions. Vidal is washed up mate.
That team with that formation is waiting to be hammered by elite teams in the Champions league.
Even if Dzeko is somewhat acceptable as a short term, the midfield definitely needs long term fixing, not yet another band-aid signing.
