We don't have money we need to make sales before we can sign players

Not only a matter of not having money, but I think we want to make room for new players and not get stuck with players we can't get rid of and an oversized squad. Lessons learned from having to leave players out of the CL squad

If by talking about midfielders you refer to CM then you are right but its not as we missed too much quality.
Allan - Could be useful but I think he moved to Napoli while we had a crazy midfield in MVP (and P). I might be wrong though..
Barella - He is good but he isnt anything special
Sensi - First lets see him play without getting injured and then we discuss how much we missed on him...

Tonali - He prefers Inter so its not as we didnt want to make a move (at least according to reports).

Still our scouting remains pathetic, even though I like some of our primavera players.

Kulusevski was one of the best players in the primavera competition, but we wait until he explodes in Serie A and buy him for crazy money. Tonali was in Serie B already a star. Yes, he wants to go to Inter now, but who knows what happened if we tried a year ago. Castrovilli came straight out of Serie B and had a impressive season at Fiorentina. Now he costs a lot. Bennacer, star at the Africa Cup, went for 16m to Milan.

We’ve always bought the best players in Serie A (with some exceptions), but with the inflation in football nowadays, our financial difficulties, and especially our midfield, it’s safe to say that we missed out on a lot of players in recent times, or at least waited to long to buy them. And I tried to stick with central midfielder that still are young today, avoiding obvious answers like Verratti.

I’d love to scout a player in Serie B and bring him directly to the first squad. Serie B has brought a lot of nice talents to the Serie A this decade.

I dont know.. I see some pros in Dzeko that arent in Higuain but also some of Higuain that are not present in Dzeko.
It is true Dzeko is more light therefore might be more useful but I also think Higuain`s team play is underrated.
If we replace Higuain we should look for a young hungry striker

You're thinking of a younger Higuain. The current one is beyond finished. He's past it physically and seems to be done mentally as well.

I would also take a young hungry striker, but only after we fix the midfield and add some fullback/wingback reinforcements. At that point, if we are capable of it financially, I would go for that hypothetical young striker. But that seems unlikely so Dzeko presents himself as the ideal alternative

This lack of movement is worrying but also kind of understandable. Nobody is sitting on cash these days to spend it left and right.

I was being sarcastic, but we do have to buy the right players. Because this shirt is heavy and everyone targets players wearing it, so those with soft or unprofessional mentalities are destined to fail.

Paratici in that interview with Tek was talking about how this is really what scouting departments look like now. Everyone knows everything about the technical abilities of players, there are stats on everything, but they want to know the personality and the human behind it. Yet still there are failures again and again.

I think Bayern have the perfect set up of any team in the world tbh, they are in a comparatively strong league but are so much bigger, storied and wealthier than the rest. Their history for the last 25 years is swatting off the latest upstart team to dare challenge them for a season or so. Dortmund, Stuttgart, Bremen, Wolfsburg, whoever. Usually one of those teams wins because Bayern are transitioning or it's a spectacular failure of a season with the wrong coaching choice.

Juve in many of the last years have been in a similar position, but we worked ourselves into that position from mediocrity, building the club on and off the pitch with good choices. In Serie A things can easily change hands than they can in Germany, even if you only look at the history and potential of Inter and Milan, not even mentioning the chasing pack seasonal/era wonders like Napoli or Atalanta. If we make bad choices we can easily slip off our pedestal for some time.

I totally agree with the German example. It’s not the same at all in Italy. Although, I must admit that there are all kinds of signs that draw you to a certain talent. Right now we’re in a position where we absolutely have to get rid of the deadwood and pump some fresh blood into the team. I’m not going to judge Paratici on last years mistakes because of all the different factors that one must take into account, such as old/injured players on high wages and the given circumstances caused by the pandemic. I will start judging from this summer and going onward because this kind of circumstances will prove how good you are as a sporting director. On a side note, Paratici targeted Rabiot for the longest time and ended up signing him despite the competition. We all knew what kind of a young individual he was, there’s a risk where there’s talent. I still believe Rabiot can develop into a solid starter for us. The same applies to Zaniolo, with the only difference that the player is a Juve fan (According to the media). Right now, he’s the biggest Italian talent and I think that Paratici will send a strong message if he manages to sign him. He already did with Kulu, if we can add 1 or 2 other young talented players and let them develop and flourish under Pirlo, we should be set for the next 8 years.
