guys lets be reasonable here:
the issues currently plaguing the squad aren't new. Aging players, inflated contracts, deadweight, ill-advised contracts, etc.. Coupled with a lack of strategy to drive towards a vision to build a sustainable, competitive squad. The confluence of these compounding issues is unfortunate but they are not all suddenly coming to light. Management wasted another good year of CR7. They burn another year of Dybala's existing contract. Fire a winner, hire a bus driver, fire him, and hire a rookie and basically decide to hit reset with him. Unfair to the new coach. This rebuild will take at least 3 windows to right size. But with rumors (hopefully all bs) of pursuing more aging players doesn't make sense. We are already taking financial losses for cleaning house. It's not going to help to rebuild with a similar strategy that has put us in this situation.
