Don't go off topic. Nobody said his career is over, yet his time as a footaballer is over. I said that if those other 10 players ain't playing for him, he's pretty much done as he is. I also referred on e-sports where your physique or stamina doesn't play that big of a role, but we're talking about football where it certainly does and when it comes to Messi, he's probably the most carried player around the field of any team in 2020. Find me a player who does less running, work on the pitch? He should be beating his opponents left n right considering he's facing a guy who already has 9km logged on his waist, while he might have 4.5km and completely recovered from the last spurt. He has all the players stealing the balls for him, feeding the balls to him, covering the running for him etc, yet you call him carrying his "team" on his shoulders? IF anything, he's being carried and it can be seen as a fact by making it individual sport, where you're only responsible for yourself without anybody running in behalf of you etc. and guy would be the most useless player out there. Too bad it's 11v11 and it's that team behind him which allows him to play any competitve sport in 2020, and it's a cold hard fact whether you want to admit it not.

That circus which is currently going on at Barca is just purely because of Messi. He might not be responsible for that, but he is the reason. You can look it at the way of literally forgetting all the long term plans just to please Messi and his intentions. If Messi wasn't in there, they would have never done such a stupid business moves as they have done, but since he's there and they want to protect him from leaving and keeping him happy which is completely understandable, it has become somewhat a total circus in there. Who the fuck keeps the core for 10 years and buying players left n right for +100m and not even giving them a chance to shine? That's Barca, and the players they've had have failed just because of the stupid demands on the style they want to play, to cover Messi's weaknesses while making rest of the players suffer, which then allows Messi to shine with his 6km's distance covered per match. You can look almost all the attacking players in there, Zlatan, Eto'o, Villa, Henry etc. from the past decade, then these current signings ala Coutinho, Dembele, Griezmann etc. Look at the names, absolute legends of the game who went to Barca just to fail, because you'd need to protect Messi way too much. I don't even want to go on NT stuff, or Barca bringing in these Tito Martines's and stuff from Barca B to coach their actual team, or bringing some argentianian coaches from never heard places just to please Messi. I get that he's that type of a player that most likely it was right thing to do +5 years ago, but definitely hasn't worked anymore last 5 years.

One more time, he isn't done but if you want to make him look like a footballer, then make sure you get exact 10 players around him and he can still produce, but it doesn't make your team win anymore.
Teams have been "carrying" Ronaldo for 3-4 yrs now.

Worth it for them.

He contributed to 70 fucking goals last season. And this guy says they are carrying Messi. FFS are we watching the same sport. To think he is the problem in Barca is just baffling.

Maximising his efforts to solely focus on all out attack duties is what makes him perform to those insanely consistent standards. It works. Ronaldo has done exactly the same since 2014 (with less playmaking duties then Messi), and is exactly why he also has such insane figures.

The difference been that Real Madrid have been way better at putting a world class team around Ronaldo then, while Messi has had Secco level morons running the club since their last CL win ages ago. To actually blame the catastrophic transfers/coach hirings and overall team building on a player in Messi is bizzare level of bitterness.

Ronaldo is still physically capable of playing the game, almost well as anybody where Messi quite nearly isn't - that's the difference. If it didn't come down to physique, players could play well on their 50s and there wouldn't be somewhat so called "retirement age".

It still comes down to the physique and the worse your physique is, the more you need this so called "carrying". Messi with his limited physique automatically needs more carrying than a guy, who still is in an excellent shape.

The difference between Ronaldo and Messi is the fact that Ronaldo realized his physical decline, while Messi didn't. Messi desperately tries to be the same player as he was 10 years ago and since he cannot do the things he used to do in the past and he needs more carrying for being able to even get into the position of scoring a goal. Ronaldo could still try to beat players left n right, cut inside and scoring those rocket of a longshots etc, but he realized he's 30, it's time to adapt just like every athlete should do when getting older. Messi hasn't adapted a bit, the whole team around him had to adapt to him and that always creates problems with the starting squad, the players coming n leaving his teams, especially in NT.

Real Madrid never put a team around Ronaldo and instead, if im not mistaken they sold all the players Ronaldo enjoyed playing with. I remember Ronaldo calling Ozil one of the best players he's played with, Di Maria also being at RM during those times. Higuain was also there. RM bought multiple players 2009, was it Ronaldo, Kaka, Benzema and Xabi Alonso or some shit and after that, Bale was almost only guy they really invested for a long time. Then James was one, but they never built their team around Ronaldo, because it was unecessary. Wasn't it even that Perez didn't want Ronaldo in there in first place, or it really wasn't his "galactico signing", so they always had somewhat cold relationship, which prob was the main reason Ronaldo wanted to leave. They prob thought at RM that when signing bale, he would be the successor for Ronaldo but they never thought Ronaldo would still be playing at 35 at this level so their plan didn't work out. Now when Ronaldo came to Juve, the first big signing we did for making him to score more goals was MDL, which would run down the flanks and provide +20 assist a season for him, just like Barca does by investing on their defense yearly, by signing these all these Coutinhos, Villas, Henry's, Zlatan's, Griezmann's, Dembeles, Neymar's etc.

Portugal also did the same, by bringing in Fernando Santos, the notorious defensive mindset which is all about result, and Ronaldo adapted to his system with no question asked meanwhile Messi, demanded some Barca's B coach to their NT for having somewhat similar system to Barca.

Now since Ronaldo has enjoyed about the luxury of these teams built around him, i think it's fair that Barca continues to bring players just for Messi next 4-5 years atleast, so it would be somewhat even.

Would you sell Dybala to make way for Messi?

How many IG followers does Messi have?
No, because that would be short sighted and stupid.

Trading your future for a potential shot at glory in a 1-2 year window is a recipe for disaster. You can ask Milan and Inter how that worked out for them. Both have been irrelevant for a decade now, although the Black and Blue Cunts are making an inglorious comeback.

If Berna + Higuain + Matuidi + Khedira wages enough to pay Messi wage, I will take Messi only to watch 2 GOAT's playing on the same pitch with same Juventus jersey even if it is only for 1 or 2 years

Griezmann vs Milik

If you could choose
Do we must get one of the two?
Milik is better suited but Griezmann is definitely way better..

Transfer Fee? Wages? Compatibility with Dybala and the team?

Factor in all those things and then make a choice. Ideally, I'd keep Higuain for another year, and do a full frontal assault on Haaland in 2021.
I dont think we can keep Higuain but you are definitely right on this one
