If we aren’t registering someone in his place, who cares if it happens on the last day to register contracts. Either Marchisio wanted to sign for another Serie A team (on deadline) or Juventus wanted that slot. And given Juventus paid a bonus, it sounds more like the latter.

FIRST THING I thought of when I saw marchisio left about 4 minutes ago lol.

Can't help but wonder if something else is going down at the 11th hour. We have a whole in midfield even bigger now. ONLY other thing I can think of is Max wants to use a 2 man midfield next season to accommodate our attackers so we needed to trim up at the waist.

But in Marchisio case this is a slot only for another homegrown player and there isnt one for Juve that could potentially replace him.

Couldn’t a serie A club still sign him after today since he’s a free agent? Just wondering.

It doesn’t need to be a home grown player.

They can sign him even when the window is closed if he is a free agent. So he could find club tommorow or in 2 weeks.

You can sign a free agent for Serie A. Reminds me of inter trying to sign Carew a few seasons back.
