None of us know the specific mechanics. perhaps we do not go into the red before next season and have time to offload in a year.

perhaps we are fucked and we bought Cronaldo with money we didnt have and now need to have a firesale.

Even though everyone believes the latter, it just wouldnt make sense considering the track record of this management.

:agree:

Someone also posted in a thread a couple weeks ago, that we were well above the line for FFP problems.

It's pretty clear our sponsorship + commercial revenue is going to grow exponentially over the next couple years with Ronaldo, so I doubt our management had fucked us after 7 years of careful and measured spending and growth. We've played in 2 of the last 4 CL finals and just signed the most popular footballer on the planet. Juventus is going to profit big from this.

We may have to sell a player or two this mercato, hopefully Higuain, and if necessary Rugani. But it's nonsense to think we're going to sell half our team.

Poor planning, you could say. Or it's calculated.

We supporters are the one's dreaming of a Dream Team now, with the likes of Marcelo, SMS/Pogba for a total frontal assault on the CL.

But for all we know, the club's idea could be this:

GOAT on top, with the likes of Dybala and Costa next to him. And a "decent" midfield and defence behind them, and let's see how it goes
What dream team ? I am not the one that posts lineups with Pogba, Marcelo and the likes in it.

But letting say, Pjanic go or a Dybala go without replacing them is STUPID especially in the case of the former. I've posted it before in this thread. We should be able to 60-80M net spend this summer with estimated revenues from tickets, sponsorships etc. Which means selling Higuain, Rugani, Sandro(if required) + fringe players can cover the costs.

If they are unable to sell Higuain and Rugani on the market, then thats the fault of the management for getting themselves into this situation. You want to sell Higuain but you bring CR7 weeks later before selling him which weakens your selling position. Sounds like a plan.

I never denied there wont be sales. But bringing him in to let guys like Dybala or Costa go ? Even if Pjanic goes , we need a worthy replacement. What kind of squad planning is this ? Might as well have not bought CR7 in the first place.
Regarding squad planning, lets bookmark this and see what the squad looks like at the end of the mercato and then discuss

I'm not arguing with you, I agree. But at least try to read me correctly. I'm talking about scenarios in which we for whatever reason wont be able to sell Higgy and Rugani.

I hope they get sold, cause that's exactly what we need right now. But if we come to a point where no one comes in for them, someone else gotta go.

Cause with 200 mill spent and 40 brought in from the likes of Mandragora, Cerri etc. Well, we can't operate like this.

But trust me friend, we want the same thing.

But we still gotta sell them. We have already replaced Higuain. There's no point keeping him now and let our key midfielder go for example.

You cant make excuses for the management if they are unable to sell Higuain. Not only his book value is so huge for a player of his age , we bought another striker before even selling him. We've weakened our negotiating position further. I do hope they escape with this but i'm afraid we're going to sacrifice one of our young guns(Caldara) to make this happen.

Goes hand in hand with quarterly reporting. And it's precisely why sales must happen
    15m Sturaro
    25m Pjaca with recompra
    54m Higuain*
still didn't show the Mandragora numbers but he's already at Udine so could be 20m + recompra

I don't think ~50m will fuck us up.
