we have Caldara incoming, who i expect to start by 2020/21, and next year when Barza retires (or sometime in the future) Romagna is coming in as well. cant have too many youngsters in defense i guess, they want playing time and we cant give it to 2-3 of them
Exactly.
We will NOT be able to satisfy both Caldara and Rugani with playing time...

What's the point in selling Rugano and then splashing 50% of the fee on a 32 yo. That's just bad business.
Benatia was great this year, but it's a no-brainer for me to upgrade Benatia to Godin. Especially at a similar fee.

Selling 23 year old Rugani, who could form a decade long partnership with Caldara, post-Chellini would be foolish.

lol Marcos Alonso is definitely a better defender than Sandro. For example, he would have defended that Real Madrid late goal much better than Sandro.

Yes I actually watch him play. That's why I suggested him. I gotta ask you the question because Alonso did play LB, LWB and LCB under Conte. You suggesting freaking Emerson benching him is laughable tbh.
You're talking nonsense. Alonso never played LB or LCB under Conte. The only position he has played for Chelsea in his time there is LWB. No way is he a better defender than Alex Sandro. He worked well in Conte's system because he had a very attacking role.

If he's coming it means someone is leaving.
Seems like an unneassary hassle.

Godin is the most consistent, error free CB in the world. You can argue Chiellini, Bonucci, Ramos, Varane at their best are better as players, but speaking purely as a CB Godin is no.1 for 6-7 years now.
The difference he will make would be marginal at best. We are already solid at the back with known quantity at juventus.

Upgrading Benatia to Godin for a similar fee is an obvious no-brainer. It's losing Rugani to do it, that would be silly.
