SMS agent: 'Price is what it is’

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s agent doesn’t want to “talk about numbers” but hints the Lazio man would cost over €100m.

The midfielder is highly sought-after by some of Europe’s biggest clubs, but Biancocelesti President Claudio Lotito has slapped a price tag north of €120m on his prize asset.

“We agree that he’s one of the greatest products in European football in the last season,” Mateja Kezman told Tuttomercatoweb.

“I don’t want to talk about numbers, but it’s clear the numbers [for transfer fees] are going up all the time so…

“Real Madrid? He said that in an old interview, he was a child and he dreamed of playing for Real. That was just the aspiration of any young player though.

“In life and in football you never know what the morning will bring.”

Juventus still in for SMS

Juventus are reportedly still interested in Lazio’s Sergej Miliknovic-Savic, despite the fact he’d cost at least €120m.

The Bianconeri’s general manager insisted last week that they hadn’t made any move for the midfielder, pointing to the cost of doing a deal.

However, there have been reports in recent days that Juve are ready to sell Gonzalo Higuain, and Tuttosport believes this may not be unrelated to Milinkovic-Savic.

The newspaper points out that even spending €120m and tripling the Lazio man’s wages would have less of a budgetary impact than signing Higuain.

If the Argentine could be sold for around €60m, with amortisation the Old Lady could be considered to have broken even on the striker.

Therefore replacing him with Milinkovic-Savic, even for a big fee, wouldn’t be a huge outlay for the club.

By contrast though, Gazzetta dello Sport believes the Aquile will be looking for around €150m, quoting President Claudio Lotito.

“I turned down €110m on August 29 for Milinkovic-Savic, so €100m is not enough to buy him,” the patron said on Tuesday.

“€120m is ok for one leg.”

The €100m offer is believed to have come from Manchester United, who are still interested in Milinkovic-Savic.

It's a fact, that we'll have to leave our business model if we wanna sign a world class midfielder and a world class forward despite selling Miss Piggy.

I've never denied that, point is that with all the rumours circulating around we could just aswell sell Pjanic and Higuain to get two of the SMS/Kovacic or Morata/Icardi/Martial, selling Higuain doesn't necessarily mean that we are getting SMS while neglecting the ST position, sure we had something of a similar scenario two summers ago but there's no way it's a fact for this mercatto aswell.

Real Madrid offer Modric in trade for Juventus superstar

Real Madrid have a plan to nab Miralem Pjanic: they want to offer a player in exchange for him.

His name? Luka Modric. The Croatian star will, Don Balon report, be 33 this year, and wants a change of scenery after winning his third-straight Champions League title, as he realises that all the battle wounds are beginning to take a toll on him.

Juventus have already received an offer for Pjanic worth €65 million, but have told the Merengues that they won’t take anything less than €80m for their man. Barcelona and Manchester City are also interested in the 28-year-old.

The former Lyon man is coming off a season in which he has scored seven goals and made nine assists for the Bianconeri.

Florentino Perez’s plan is to tempt Juventus into dealing by offering a replacement for Pjanic, along with €30m for their troubles.

Thing is, the Bosnian is considered to be fundamental by Coach Max Allegri. Then again, recent reports make it sounds like Juventus want to sell Pjanic in order to fund a swoop for superstar Sergej Milinkovic-Savic...

I get your point, but precisely due to the plethora of rumours currently in circulation we should be a bit more cautious between what we present as a fact/reality and what is based on one or anothers hunch after reading and filtering in some of the clickbaits around.

Juve offer Higuain swap for Morata

Juventus are intent on a return for Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata and have offered Gonzalo Higuain as part of a swap deal, say reports.

Morata, 25, moved to Stamford Bridge in a €65m deal from Real Madrid last summer but despite a fast start endured a tough second half to the season.

Having played for Juventus between 2014 and 2016, scoring 27 goals in 93 appearances, he has missed out on a place in the Spain squad for the forthcoming World Cup.

The London Evening Standard now report representatives from Juve as proposing a potential swap deal between the two strikes, with the Italian champions keen to offload Higuain.

The Argentine striker joined from Napoli in 2016 and the Bianconeri are said to be keen to free up his wages and bring back the Spaniard as his replacement.

Juve’s initial offer of a two-year loan deal with an option to buy was said to be knocked back, although the FA Cup holders may be open to selling Morata should he wish to leave.

Spain international Thiago Alcantara 'wants to leave’ Bayern Munich this summer, according to reports emerging from Germany.

The 27-year-old, who joined the Bavarian club from Barcelona in the summer of 2013, is keen on a move away this summer according to the well-connected Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk.

Arturo Vidal, Juan Bernat and Jerome Boateng are also said to be available for sale at the Bundesliga champions, who may look to freshen their squad this summer.

Thiago – whose brother Rafinha is currently on loan at Inter from the Blaugrana – has had an injury-disrupted five years in Germany, limiting him to just 67 league starts in that timeframe.
