That is true...but what about the additional cost of buying a WC striker to replace higuain's output?

- - - Updated - - -

This SMS excitement is cool and I'd be pretty stoked if we got him but there should be some caution.

How many big money moves in recent years have actually paid off? - Neymar, Mbappe, Dembele, Pogba, Coutinho, Bale (apart from cup finals) ??

We wont get one. We have to make a compromise in attack in that case.

Either that or we sell Higuain, buy Icardi and be content with our average midfield.

One or the other.

Or just keep all our players and dont sell anybody which would be good for all parties involved but it doesnt work that way here.

to be frank pogba wanted to leave so bad that beppe had no choice but to cash in. the main problem is the midfield looks like an abandoned area of the squad and strategic plans: we bought several young attackers like pjaca, cerri, orsolini that are pretty far from being a starter without getting any quality b2b.

Juventus are reportedly still interested in Lazio’s Sergej Miliknovic-Savic, despite the fact he’d cost at least €120m.

The Bianconeri’s general manager insisted last week that they hadn’t made any move for the midfielder, pointing to the cost of doing a deal.

However, there have been reports in recent days that Juve are ready to sell Gonzalo Higuain, and Tuttosport believes this may not be unrelated to Milinkovic-Savic.

The newspaper points out that even spending €120m and tripling the Lazio man’s wages would have less of a budgetary impact than signing Higuain.

If the Argentine could be sold for around €60m, with amortisation the Old Lady could be considered to have broken even on the striker.

Therefore replacing him with Milinkovic-Savic, even for a big fee, wouldn’t be a huge outlay for the club.

By contrast though, Gazzetta dello Sport believes the Aquile will be looking for around €150m, quoting President Claudio Lotito.

“I turned down €110m on August 29 for Milinkovic-Savic, so €100m is not enough to buy him,” the patron said on Tuesday.

“€120m is ok for one leg.”

The €100m offer is believed to have come from Manchester United, who are still interested in Milinkovic-Savic.

They definitely read Tuz :shifty:

Nah, Icardi is too much. SMS alone is a fucking great, and I really think we can get Morata or Martial for loan+option (and imo both of them suit us more than Icardi)

Exactly, that's what I said yesterday. We may get Morata/Martial on favorable conditions and sell Higuain to fund the CM signing. So we basically reshuffle to get some cash and make things happen.

Icardi? I believe it's his agent trying to get the best wages possible. If we're involved in this, maybe we just want to stir the shit up at inter's camp to limit their spending ability even more. Once they pay the top dollar to Icardi they'll have even less resources to compete on the market. I don't buy into getting a player of similar level, just younger and losing 50m in the process. It'd be the stupidity of the century to do that.

If we get SMS/Pogba, Martial/Morata, Perin, Cancelo/Darmian, Can, Caldara, Spinazolla, Pjaca without selling anyone from Dybala, Sandro, Pjanic or Higuain it will be the best mercato in recent years.

We can't get Martian on loan + option since his contract will expire next year.

Come on now, Garfield, that won't happen and you know it.

Wonder what will happen with Lewa. Looking at the top teams only Chelsea seems interested but why would he go to EL team? We will have problem with his wages but he would be absolutely perfect for us.

I don't think you read what he wrote.

Well if u didnt notice there are many rumours of Higuain leaving and in this case he wouldnt be a luxury striker.
Even if we sell Miss Piggy. Midfield and defense should be a priority.

I would really feel uncomfortable if we spent 100mln + for SMS. Unproven player from a middle class club. When we were spending 90 for Higuain he was already proven at top level for many years and came from a 36 goals season. Not to mention he's a striker. I know it's not my money but still.
