SMS is box to box CM, his competition is Kroos and Modric.

How does this make sense? And if you assume he gets AM role, both Isco and Asensio are better choices. Plus the have Kovacic as deputy for those CM role, its crowded.

Couple that with he would cost near 100m, yeah, how is Real a big need for player like him?

Real need to go big in wing forward role to replace Bale, not in CM.
I think Sergej is best utilized as an AM but could fill in deeper too. Not sold on Isco ever becoming the player they need, was really bad against Liverpool in the CL final. Sergej is going to become one of the best, why not go straight to the best team in the world.

Besides the linked Man U, which doesn't make much sense due to Pogba, imo the team that needs SMS the most is PSG. Their midfield is too soft and need an all action midfielder.

Mourinho has had enough of Pogba maybe? Mata is also supposed to leave.

Because the best team in the world have the best midfield in the world, and they dont need to waste big sum on another central midfielder?

And SMS is not a natural AM, and certaintly not in the mold of a Real Madrid type of AM. He is a roaming nr 8, well rounded and strong box to box mid. His competition will surely be Kroos and Modric IMO.

And they have Asensio itching for bigger role/starting minutes in coming season, so I would advice against a big midfield signing for them, atleast in central roles. They should go all in for an winger or forward.

Yeah as much as I like his game, we are quickly overrating him if you ignore players like Isco for him.

Shouldnt come from Juve fan of all people, considering Isco was basically their MVP vs us last years final. Yeah he had a weaker final this time, but we are comparing to a player who hasnt even played in CL yet, we dont even know if he can hack it at that level, let alone for a bigger club, Lazio is still small time level.

Reading Merda forum's Icardi thread, found this

Inter and Juventus are reportedly in talks to complete a swap deal between Mauro Icardi and Gonzalo Higuain. The CEO of Pirelli commented the rumours after attending an event in Naples on Wednesday afternoon: “Let Inter and Juve take a final decision on this [the swap deal]”, Tronchetti Provera said. “They are two great strikers and anything can happen during negotiations.”

I wouldn't do it. We wouldn't have any cash left for midfield. Unless Higuain is really determined to leave.

Icardi is not a 110m in my opinion. Deadly in the box, but not much more to him. Would take Martial over him anyday of the week even for the same price.

Also I cant see a Icardi/ Dybala partnersship work at all.

I'm not bashing Isco or saying he is a bad player, but we have seen Real move on from talented players successfully in previous years. You might be right on them not needing him at the moment. I just feel he would be a big success there and they'd find a way to fit him in.

It's either Icardi or SMS.

SMS is a gigantic waste of money if he's playing holding mid behind 2 strikers. There's no way Marotta could be that incompetent.

SMS would only play in 3 man midfield, anywhere he goes.

And ofcourse we would sign him over Icardi if we could.
