Juve step up €50m Martial talks

Juventus are stepping up negotiations with Manchester United to sign Anthony Martial for €50m, according to Italian reports.

Several newspapers have already pin-pointed Martial as a main transfer target for the summer, but Calciomercato.com claim that talks between the clubs are progressing rapidly.

The biggest competition is from Bayern Munich, while Manchester United have set the price-tag at €50m.

That would be €10m less than United paid to sign him from Monaco in 2015.

He has struggled for playing time at Old Trafford this season and the 22-year-old managed 11 goals with 10 assists in 42 competitive games.

Able to play on the left, right or as a more central attacker, his pace and versatility make him a counter-point to last year’s signing Douglas Costa.

Martial would also be a replacement for Mario Mandzukic, who many believe will move on from Turin next term.

Not that I give a damn about his brother but it will be great if they play in the same city :D

Martial would be a good signing as he can play multiple roles so gives us that flexibility that is needed, Morata I don't like him and if we can't get him for €40 million I don't think he would be worth it to pay more as he's so inconsistent

Emre Can ain't a player that makes fans go ecstatic but if he could learn some tactical stability he'll be a stud. He has the dribbling, tackling, heading & shooting ability Khedira lacks.

I simply don't understand the Martial signing, unless we are about to sell "a big name". Unless our board is going to do an atypical mercato, it's funds taken from the potential midfielder-account; a central midfielder that our team screams after.

Our mercato is a zero-sum game.

Can will be a great signing you guys are nuts. Martial for 40- 50 aint bad either but like others have said someone like SMS should be signed first before thinking about someone like Martial.

We still need a RB and a good young striker/ finisher/poacher.

A young, fast attacker with good technical abilities and finishing.
So we are ready to throw out Dybala who has become a big star here, for someone United cant use and whom we have no idea if he will fit in here.? If Dybala WILL leave, then it could somehow make sense. But where would he play also? Same role as Dybala, next to Higuain/Morata/Mandzukic? Or play on the wing and then bench one of our 2 well performing players Costa/Cuadrado? I dont even think he could bench them. Neither Dybala. It wouldnt be an upgrade in any way, unless we believe he has got a huge potential.
