Tbh I would be perfectly happy with us splurging all our damn funds into getting SMS and filling the rest of the gaps with returning players (Spina, Caldara, Kean, Pjaca, Mandra). All we need is a full-back who can play both sides (Spina, not ideal, but free) and a bullish box-to-box mid like SMS who can do absolutely everything. This isn't realistic though, and we'll end up with Can as our big midfield signing.

Of course, since we will 100% surely sell one or both of Dybala and Alex Sandro this summer, and probably let Asamoah leave to Inter for free, we will need some more reinforcements, but those would be funded by their massive transfer fees aswell.

Both are great players with one player already proven to be great at a top club (Pogba with us) and one unproven on top level but then again no one has any concerns about him..
Given the same price you could see different answers but for 60M its way too easy?!
What would you prefer to upgrade to the best player you can for 60M or for 120M in any case both Pogba and SMS are players of the highest level so you are basically saying would you like to pay 120 or 60 for same level..

Honestly they only way we'd have a chance of SMS is if he was at Atalanta or Sassuolo, and even then it'd be a small chance. The Pellegri move is an example of that. Cagliari are another team we have good relations with, there are just more teams out there with money to throw away than us.
