Reports in Italy back those in Spain stating that Juventus Coach Massimiliano Allegri has spoken to Cristiano Ronaldo by phone. It was reported yesterday that the pair had exchanged a brief greeting, as the Bianconeri look to complete a €100m deal for the Real Madrid superstar. Now Gazzetta dello Sport is also reporting that a telephone exchange took place last week, with the pair holding a brief but friendly conversation in English.

We shouldn't underestimate the meaning of this transfer. Of course stars should align, and they did, for this to happen; under normal circumstances we wouldn't stand a chance to sign soemone liek Ronaldo.

But this move will undoubtful move focus to towards Juventus and the league. I can't wait to see the increase in shirt sales. Any sponsorship deals should, if possible, be renegotiated since we are an entirely different product with Ronaldo.

If Elkann were smart he would look into the image rights and name of CR7. How to get most out of those 3-4 years in Juventus.

This deal can't be overestimated. It might the deal of this and the last century for Juventus, all things considered.
