The Champions League winning mentality alone that the GOAT brings deserves 30M a year.
it doesn't really matter whether he's had a better career than Messi, Maradona, Pele or Zidane, what matters is that our midfield is still underwhelming and will be again our biggest problem next year, yet we can't stop spending on flashy things

please don't get a 33yo Ronaldo on 30m wages with 100m (?) release clause, that's beyond stupid. not sure I'd take him for "free" at this point
FI - Juve offer Ronaldo 30M per season 4 year contract

As for your statement - for free he will surely be a great signing as 30MX4=120M Total which is equal to 80M fee and 40M wages for 4 years which means 10M per season which is a very good wage (club wise) for such a good player...

All these reports and its growing... So as I see it there are 2 scenarios
1. We are desperate and want someone who is a winner and a game changer - C.Ronaldo is certainly that.. In this scenario Exor Nike or some company with interests are paying from their own pockets for his transfer fee/50% of his wages
2. This is nonsense and the only reason we hear about it is because Mendes really tries to get C.Ronaldo a bigger contract (C.Ronaldo vs Messi thing)

Option 2 is more logical but lets be hopeful for that 1% that option 1 is possible

footie is played by 11 people and no matter how current culture tries to glorify certain stars, at this point of his career Ronaldo offers popping up with a goal out of nowhere and not much else, basically a highly functioning and super-famous Trezeguet that also fucks up all your freekicks.

maybe it helps us take the next step marketing wise, but surely it doesn't help us win CL next season much

Football is played by 11 players thats true
One player will not make a difference by his own BUT this one player along with the other existing 10 might be able to make a difference
As for C.Ronaldo Trez comparison - Are you kidding me?! Trez was a fantastic finisher both with his feet and his head - Put this aside and we actually played with 10 men when he was on the field..
Trez didnt get the number of opportunities others got (Higuain for example) because he almost never contributed to plays aside for finishing
Trez is probably the best in converting chances to goals BUT he limited our play like no one else did...
C.Ronaldo is a leader and a winner! He can dribble he can shoot from long range he could outrun his opponent and he has amazing off the ball movement.. comparing C.Ronaldo to Trez is like comparing Sturaro to Zidane... The only difference is that Trez was a good player while Sturaro is a good.. average.. nope he is not even that...

did you just compare Trez to Sturaro? Ronaldo used to contribute more, but nowadays he often disappears during games and then unexpectedly pops up with a decisive goal, pretty much like Trez used to do. I wouldn't say I'm much impressed with the other aspects of Ronaldo's game lately.

I did say Trez is good while Sturaro isnt even a real football player..
C.Ronaldo used to be a different player - a better one in terms of overall play but not as scary goalscorer as he is now - The thing is his age
Zidane understood that C.Ronaldo cant go forever BUT he can get more years out of him if he transforms him into the finisher type of forward as he would work less but he could still have an advantage as he is faster very athletic and has great shooting skills and he was right!
C.Ronaldo is more of a striker nowadays but he is also more of a leader as well
While Argentina couldnt even look like a team C.Ronaldo did carry Portugal (even if he also has B.Silva on his side)
