Higuain is a world class forward, thats why we forked out 90 mill for him and has delivered with his goals

This time last season many would have said Bonucci is top 5 cb in the world and can't be replaced, I mean did anyone seriously have much faith in replacing him with benatia who whenever played was a liability if anything. Replacing Higuain is harder than replacing benatia imo
Bonucci was never a top cb he worked in an amazing partnership and his flaws are hidden
Benatia is anything but that
Pulls amazing performances for Morroco ffs

Really? I can name numerous occassions when benatia was nothing but a liability especially when he was 2nd fiddle to bonucci and chiellini, and even this season he has been guilty at times for sloppy ball control and giving up possession in dangerous areas when played across the back, he has already proven to lack concentration at key moments, roll up koulibaly and if you want to be controversial vs madrid in the 2nd leg.

Lets not kid ourselves here, he's good but I wouldn't label him as world class and he's certainly replaceable in my books, I don't think it'll be long before Caldara replaces him in the starting 11 given what caldara is showing is very impressive on a consistent level.

Replacing Higuain with a Morata or Martial might look good in a future-proofing, ideal world scenario, but in the short term it's a massive gamble and the club surely won't make it.
hoping that Higuain doesn't decline further in the next few years is a massive gamble as well, what if the next season his output drops even more and instead of 16 Serie A goals he scores 10 or 12 the next season?

In "a few years" he will, but for next season the choice is to sell while his value is still relatively high and replace him with an experienced scorer (that includes Icardi), or keep him for at least another two seasons. He isn't suddenly finished with one weaker season, it's not a physical decline because he is 30 rather than 29, if anything his physical shape (solely on appearance) looks better in the second half of this season than he has for about 3-4 seasons. He's playing too much and the partnership with Dybala is very mixed.

Replacing him with young and inconsistent talents is too far, they need to be the 'other' option, not the replacement.

Judgement call. I don't think Martial brings guarantees, especially with the past 2 seasons he's had, but the guy is very talented and could complement Dybala very well
Dude of cos, don't get why people are asking for chiesa over martial!

Martial is a good player in EPL = ownage player in serie A and to some extent ECL

Chiesa is a goodbye player in serie A = unproven joke/failure in ECL

Creative midfield is one aspect of it, no point in completely ignoring two of the best players of all time, Sergio Ramos, €150m benches and all the other factors involved. We aren't going to field a Barcelona midfield, you need to get over it.
Creative midfield is by far the most important aspect. When Real Madrid steamrolled our midfield in the second half in Cardiff, that had nothing to do with their bench, Ronaldo or Ramos. That had everything to do with Modric, Isco and Kroos.

Pogba is a two-way midfielder, or is supposed to be. We used him as more of an AM towards the end but it has to be a special player to be given that freedom and for us he was good for the most part. You can't find players with Pogba's mix of technique and power easily.
Pogba was never good defensively, but his ability to link midfield with attack is something that we still haven’t replaced. We need a player like Modric or Iniesta who can link midfield to attack. If we don’t get one then we will continue to fail at the last hurdle in the Champions League.

If we pay €60M for Chiesa, B81 coma confirmed :baus:

Until proven otherwise , I refuse to rate some of these Italian attacking talents. One or two flashy games here and there doesn't change things. Time and time again , we've seen a large collection of overhyped Italian fraud attacking players(even midfielders) who amount to nothing after a few months of hype.

Besides we don't need this Chiesa guy. If a wing tandem of Chiesa-Bernardeschi is a 'dream' for some here, then we're really having low standards, let's be honest here.
If the two are top level in a few years, it may well be the most favorable duo for Juve. I like Italians due to the fact that they rarely do well outside of Italy. No Barca, Real, PSG, United will steal them.

It really is a joy seeing napolitans and romans cheer for a team full of Juventus players as well!!

I beg to differ. Those 2 are animals when it comes to grinta, determination even diving and doing whatever it takes for their team to win. They are leaders on the pitch; who do we have there? Who offers us grinta, determination? I'm not saying we should win by any means, unsporting ones, but they have some qualities we lack.

I'm not saying he's finished, but he might be on decline, he had a very bad first half of the season in 2016/17 and a good second half. I don't even want to think what'll happen to his confidence and drive if he fails in the WC again.

The mixed partnership with Dybala is what makes me believe that we don't necessarily need to replace him with a finisher as good as Gonzalo, if we get a guy that compliments Paolo better and works harder in pressing than Gonzalo he doesn't need to be a deadly finisher for us to end up a better team.
