@Fred

I was talking to a French football nerd earlier today. He said Juventus should sign Andre Zambo Anguissa. Honestly, I haven't noticed him a lot, but he is apparently the next "great" DM from Ligue 1.

What do you think of him?

Marcelo? Maybe next year, now it's time to sell Higgy, Benatia and Rugani with a buy clause, use those extra 20mils to activate Godin's clause, win the treble and we can get Marcelo with the generated income, next season and wait out Morata's contract with Chelsea and get him with the traditional Lord Beppe way...
Benatia not leaving

We should've tried to sign him 2 years ago. Now I think we have zero chance.

Best DM in the world atm for me
He is absurd. Absurdly good. By far the most dominant [running]-DM in the game. I can only dream of how good Pjanic would be if he was supported by Kante and soem physical box-to-box player.

No. And two weeks in Russia do not offset 90 weeks in Manchester.
They don't, but Pogba has had many great games with us. And a big part of that is that Allegri is simply a much better manager than Mourinho and Juventus is a much better environment for him than United.

Kante is way more important to that team than pogba.
No, he isn't. There's a reason Deschamps has consistently fielded Pogba despite the overwhelming criticism.

Kante is important, but give me a Pogba over a clean up DM every day of the week. Prefer a player who can effect every facet of the game, and we saw how close to the perfect midfielder he can be with us for 4 seasons.

Please explain. I really doubt you being unbiased in saying this. Kante is the motor in that team. He breaks up play, hunts down the opponents most important offensive players and make their work extremely difficult. How is not more important? To me he is the equivalent of mascherano for Argentina in 2014. Essential

Kante's positioning is indeed vital for this France team. But Pogba doesn't just recuperate a whole lot of balls for France, he's also the player that launches their fast counter attacks. Because France play on the counter, that's their only attacking threat. If you look at the chances they created throughout the entire tournament, Griezmann and Pogba are at the heart of almost all of them.

Now if you look at Pogba's position on the field (which is quite deep) I think he has played an extremely impressive tournament in this regard.

If this France loses Pogba, they're in deep trouble.

:agree:
Kante enables Pogba, and not only Pogba. Dude is as close to prime Makelele as I've ever seen.

You can put any half decent defensive midfielder next to Pogba this tournament and Pogba will still play well. He's the one French player who has risen to the occasion imo. It's very unfortunate for him that he has become a laughing stock at United, but he deserves nothing but praise for his tournament.

Ok, let me ask you a simple question : what qualities do you think is more difficult to replace : pogbas or kante' s? To me that's a no brainer, but hell, maybe I'm a sucker for motors that never tire. The guy practically did the same for Leicester ffs. True carrier

Without a shadow of a doubt Pogba's. Don't get me wrong. Kante's an admirable player. He sacrifices himself completely for the team. And he does so in a way that pays off. But Pogba does that and more this tournament. Take away Pogba and France don't have an attack at all. It's almost ridiculous how many chances originate from an action of Pogba this tournament. But I get it. Pogba's not very cool these days.

I never said that Paul doesn't deserve praise, he was indeed great. And tbh I don't think he is a laughing stock even in mu, yeah he has some diva in him and stuff. But even in this boring and ugly MU he was the best player when healthy.
That aside. Kante is simply amazing, and I think replacing him with any half decent DM would harm France much more then replacing Paul with half decent CM a-la Henderson.
