Palladino never was a WC talent. Same goes for Marchionni.
Mutu was far from professional, but a WC talent, no doubt.
Miccoli performed in Palermo and Benfica more or less at the same level as in Juve, it was his ceiling.
If by "big fish" you mean player who stands out because he is the best in his team, I agree, but it's nothing more – he is just the best player in his team.
Like Dybala is the best player in our team, but he won't stand out next year in Barca. Are we a small pond now?

And Gio. I do believe that Gio was not mentally strong enough, all this DP calls stuff etc. might took a toll on a kid. But he had undeniable talent and whenever he performed not as $#@!ing LCM under Conte he looked really good. I still think that with more trust and time he could've became an important player in our team.
Palladino was never WC and neither were Marchionni and Mutu
Miccoli is a player I expected a lot from as I really like his style and saw him as our future gem but I guess it was his ceiling..
Dybala can make it although the current climate is not the best for him..
Giovinco had it all but a mental strength - I remember when I first saw him I said this guy gets an assist whenever he plays but then it just wasnt meant to be
Diego who was here for a short brief was also a WC player IMO even if its true he has yet to show it for another club other than Werder Bremen (We bought him from them I think) - I think we broke him..

Andre Gomes is far from any of the guys up there - He might be comparable with Palladino but honestly I think the best comparison is Tiago as both of them showed great skills at one club then they moved to another club and flopped hard and Id say in the same way as well - Both were just retarded when it came to mental strength - Zero grit not fighting for balls - looking like he was just there for the fun of hanging out with friends on the field..
I dont want Andre Gomes not for cash not for loan and not on a free transfer! Yes I rather have Sturarro - at least he has some grit
We want a CM - Strootman is the name!
We want to look at cheaper option STOP! Strootman is the name
We want to.. Strootman is the name - We need someone to make some flow in our team and he is one of the best in making this happen so just pay his clause or whatever they want for him and get over with it

Lol, @Orgut, come on.
First of all, Thiago was great in Atletico on a big stage after Juve, really instrumental player for them. And he showed grit, fight and everything there.
Thiago is nothing like Gomes, and Gomes is nothing like Strootman. You can compare Strootman and Thiago, because they are similar players, but Gomes is totally different, more AM than CDM.
Gomez for loan + good option is a bargain.
And if you want to keep Sturaro instead of a gamble on Gomez than I don't have any words for you really( I assume you have watched Gomes in Valencia and know what we are talking about). Sturaro is a Genoa level player, always was and always will be.

Sturaro isnt Juve material thats for sure..
Gomes is obviously a much better player than Sturaro but I dont like him.. He was good at Valencia there is no doubt about it but I wasnt crazy about him even then.. Tiago - I wouldnt call him instrumental for Atletico but yeah I guess he wasnt that bad playing for them..
Strootman is the one I want as he is the best connector out of the three

Lets say Gomes is here - I`ll tell you whats going to happen
Allegri will give him credit and will play him - He would probably suck or at least not play very well and still get some credit from time to time since he is Gomes from Barcelona and a very technical player!
Stu is here and he plays only when we need him to and thats why I rather have Stu than Gomes who will dissappoint us on the pitch much more than Sturaro..
Also if Gomes for some reason not entirely flop he still isnt the player we need IMO as we need someone who can connect the players on the pitch - Strootman is the only guy I can think of who can do it and is achievable

almost pointless even competing at all if a lot of the money is going to the elkann's empire and not to the club itself

awaiting the links to zapata or acerbi at some point soon
just had a cursory glance at our financial statements, and with a 200mm euro wage bill, we really dont have that much to spend on transfers, hence marotta sort of balances the books each mercato
