Miccoli, Giovinco, Palladino, Mutu, Marchionni. I'm not going to mention Aquilani because I believe injuries killed the amazing talent that he had.
Palladino never was a WC talent. Same goes for Marchionni.
Mutu was far from professional, but a WC talent, no doubt.
Miccoli performed in Palermo and Benfica more or less at the same level as in Juve, it was his ceiling.
If by "big fish" you mean player who stands out because he is the best in his team, I agree, but it's nothing more – he is just the best player in his team.
Like Dybala is the best player in our team, but he won't stand out next year in Barca. Are we a small pond now?

And Gio. I do believe that Gio was not mentally strong enough, all this DP calls stuff etc. might took a toll on a kid. But he had undeniable talent and whenever he performed not as fucking LCM under Conte he looked really good. I still think that with more trust and time he could've became an important player in our team.

There's a a small difference between Juve - Barca but there's a huge difference between Juve - Palermo/Parma/USA team.

Also, you say Palladino was not a WC talent. You may be right, but you know what, neither is Andre Gomes.

I disagree about Miccoli, because he offered a whole lot more in other teams compared to Juve. As for Gio, if you were right, I doubt he'd be in the US right now but in some other top club.

Dude, do you really compare Palladino performance in Seria B with what Gomes did in Primera with Valencia? Come on man. Watch Valencia Real 2-1, RM coming from a great win streak (more than 20 games iirc), he was amazing against top-notch team on a run.

Miccoli might had offered more only in Palermo (he was pretty the same in Benfica, I followed him really closely, because I liked him here) where he had a team basically build around him and some other CF, it has nothing to do with pond, it's tactics, player confidence and player growth. Fabrizio was a grown-ass experienced man in Palermo, dont' forget about it.

Again, I think Gio is a head(mental)-case, burden to be next DP was hard enough for him to begin with. Now he has piece, money and fame in Canada, I can understand him totally.

Anyway, the discussion is pretty pointless tbh. Let's agree to disagree.

Look at it for example
It's AM, not some Getafe or anything. Guy is big, quite quick, very good with the ball.
Barca almost plays him as CDM, he is clearly not one. More close to AM even.

Not on the wing, inside forward.

Maybe you could also call it 4-3-2-1?
I would love to see that. At least to try it. But that's totally different and I'd love to see such plan on the field.

However, like Kopanja said, I'd love to see us get a RB for it.

Also, I doubt it's going to happen because neither Costa nor Bernardeschi came here to warm our bench. At the start of the season, yes, especially Berna, but later on I expect them to get full minutes (Costa will get those from the beginning imo).
