I will probably be slated because of this but it will be probably another hectic summer where we need to fill new holes that should not have been created to begin with in my opinion.

I’m so sick and tired of this. It really has to become another cringeworthy awful summer filled with totally unneeded drama and it will probably result panic-buys. I could not care less about selling Bonucci, even to Milan, considering he is possible to replace with equal alternatives on the market.

What annoys me is the fact that it has become a pattern every summer when we sell an elite player we also often fail to find the proper replacements for that gap.

2015/2016: We sell Vidal, when we just switched to a 4-3-1-2 and chase Julian Draxler the entire summer. Fail to sign him, start a miserable season. In the end we go back to 3-5-2 with Khedira as his direct replacement. A hectic summer combined with an awful start, if you ask me one of the reasons why that season started so awful was the failure of not replacing Vidal

2016/2017: While We sell Pogba for a record fee we do not replace him with a proper elite CM. It showed quite clearly that Khedira - Marchisio - Pjanic did not cut it for us. Sure we chased Matuidi and Witsel the entire summer. We were finding ourselves in another hectic summer where we chased Axel Witsel as our CM on deadline day. Axel Witsel FFS.

Sure we signed Higuain but left another hole in our midfield and until we switched to the 4231 we were not playing sparkling football either. Which took almost half a season to find out what the proper balance of our side was.

If the market is silly enough to budge out 105 million for someone like Pogba you take it and find another elite CM. But you cannot tell me that we replaced Pogba.

Lets stop pretending like the football becomes better over the time. Every time we take one step forward we take two back at the start of the upcoming season!

We will probably have another domestic successful season in the mean time but I fail to see a clear year-on-year improvement on the pitch because in my eyes we create gaps that we cannot fill, create chaos during the summer or invest our money in another position which did not really need investing.

Look at the elite clubs like Bayern or RM. They have direct replacements for the mutations in their line-up. They have a system or a tactical set-up that they improve year by year instead of changing the entire plan.

I have no problem with selling anyone, nobody is irreplaceable in this squad but get a proper elite talent to fill up the gap of the player who left. A direct replacement is where we failed at the last summers and therefor I fear it will be similar this season.

It could have been an easy summer where we needed to replace Khedira, Cuadrado, Neto and add a winger or sub for Higuain. 5 or 6 Signings.

Instead we need to add a RB and CB too now. that are starting material. In other words

Buffon
X - X - Chiellini - Alex Sandro
Pjanic - X
X - Dybala - Mandzukic
Higuain

those are four players we need to replace in our starting eleven. I don’t like this situation. We change our team and tactics way too much for my likings instead of improving it on a yearly basis.
This fucking been saying this for years now. Thank you!

Chelsea doesnt seem to make such major price signings anymore.
When conte goes ape shit they probably will. They are getting rid of Costa so will have more than enough money to bring in a replacement. Not saying they don't have enough but that will be a good enough justification.

Are they actually getting money from Costa sell though? I mean i hear he is going to Atletico in january or smth for their transfer ban reasons and i dont think Atletico will be paying huge money for him, maybe 30-35m at best. They only sold one player for 30m this summer (Atletico). If they had sold Griezmann i could have seen this more. But i guess if Conte/Chelsea want to get rid of Costa so bad, they are willing to accept a smaller offer.

Not sure to be honest. They've yet to spend the money the recuperated from oscar. Either way he needs a striker and with conte a serie A fan and a Juve fan I won't personally be surprised if the "bid" came from him. But really that would be funny if we rejected it.

The idea that we change our team and tactics too much isn't really borne out in the results of the past 6 years. Six Scudetti, 3 Coppas, and 2 trips to the CL final is a pretty ridiculous stretch of excellence.

Also, the fact that Allegri has been so tactically flexible has very clearly been a strength for the team (IMO).
