Disagree on all fronts. Nzonzi is far from an elite player and none of the players are an upgrade on what we have. They would be a slight upgrade if they realize their potential but had they already been Juve players this season, I don't see who they would have benched in our squad.

And again we need a higher grade of players than what we have (which are already pretty good) if we want to win the CL.

We need James, Alexis, Veratti, Iniesta class of players not Nzonzi and a bunch of youngsters with promise. You need players that can compete for a starting spot in Madrid, and Bayern. The players we are linked with are good depth signings in the short term and possibly very good long term investments, not players that will give you the quick extra push we need for the CL.


And you havent addressed the point that I was making which is that we recruited truly big names last summer and are now linked with a lesser profile of players. Part of that is that we are being priced out of the market because of the EPL bags of money.

We need minor tweaks here and there, and better options off the bench in attack and midfield. But our starting XI this year was as good as any in football.

The point being that we are right up there at the very top of the game. Winning all our domestic competitions, beating multiple top teams in the CL. As long as we continue being a top 2-3 team in Europe most season's we will eventually get a final right. We very clearly have a strong enough team to do it, as evidenced by getting to the CL final by destroying both Barca and Monaco, and then being the better team in the first half. A second half, complete meltdown in the CL final doesn't change they fact we had a great season.

Yes, it would be fucking amazing to win the CL again. But this fucking pathetic bitching like we're some minnow and having terrible seasons all because of losing two CL finals while the club has been in the midst of rebuilding itself into a European powerhouse again.

I agree with all of this. I'm just tired of people diminishing what we have actually achieved, which under Allegri these past 3 seasons is surpassed by Real Madrid (2 CL - 1 Liga) alone, and probably equalled by Barca (1 Liga- 1 CL - 2 copa Del rey).

As I said, even though I absolutely hate losing CL finals, ignoring the fact we beat the teams we did to get to the final in 2 of the last 3 seasons is silly. In 2014-15 and this season every club in football bar 1 wishes they had our seasons. All the same, we better fucking win a CL in the next couple years. Hitting 25 years without would be so frustrating.

btw our squad was fine even this year. we only conceded one single goal during the knockout stage, and our defense collapsed in the final, just like 2 years ago, or just like italy did against spain in '12. it's more of a psychological issue with finals, i doubt it can be fixed with a couple of signings.

I dont know how to go about proving his status but thats my assessment of him. He is not linked with any other top team. This is the first season I see his name tossed around and he is not young. Never impressed me when he used to be in the premier league (not even as a big fish small pond type of player) and I have never seen him start for the national team (when people like Sissoko, Matuidi, and Cabaye got regular calls.. none of which are elite either).

Never did anything to catch my attention would be the short version of it, neither on club level nor on national. Unless he really seriously improved this season on his past and is going to keep it up for a few years, then I dont think this is an elite player at all. I cant imagine why the folks that were saying no to Kante and Matuidi signings are excited about this one and its not even cheap.

Can you prove he is elite?

And thats why we need to sign champions, and not just technically talented players. We need an ace in the hole. Someone who can rise in the biggest of occasions, give the squad self confidence and lead the team across the line.

1. It will be the best possible scenario for us as this year we already have Buffon and he will only retire next year
2. We wouldnt need Milan`s permission to sell

The only wrong side to this is the fact they need to get 4th place in order for this clause to be invalid.. Juve and Napoli will surely be in the top 4 so only 2 spots remaining with Roma might be weakened after a change of coach and Milan will probably invest in the transfer market so it should be achievable...
Milan are more likely to be in the top 4 than not...

Chances of teams getting the 3rd and 4th spot
Inter - Spaletti had a good season with Roma and Inter if you like it or not are playing way beneath their potential... they should be able to finish 3rd or 4th
Milan - I expect Milan to spend lots of $ on players and their weakness is actually their manager who always seems to need the confirmation of the club I doubt they`ll finish 3rd but they are the favorites along with Roma to finish 4th
Roma - Roma had a great season BUT Salah expected to leave and their manager left them - EDF is a good manager for small clubs the question is how he will adjust to a bigger club and will his tactic suits Roma - I expect a weaker Roma compared to last season but they will still fight for 4th
Atalanta - Lets not get ahead of ourselves - they arent going to get 4th.. not this year..
Lazio - If they keep all their players they might fight for it but it seems that Keita has his mind set on leaving while Biglia is on the verge of Milan.. Unless they do something extraordinary in the transfer market they wont fight for 4th

So.. Milan and Roma will fight for the 4th ticket (not necessarily end as 4th) but Id say the way the market goes + change of coach - its seems 50-50 to me

Italy Spain is different as Spain was far superior to all national teams and they were hot favorites - Italy had a good defense but nothing compared to this Juve
Juve Barca - I wouldnt call it collapse as I think we played a very good game and it was a 52-48 game (when watching the game) as no one could say Juve stole it if they were to score the 2nd and win..
Barca scored the 2nd and the 3rd was after it was already done and we played in a super attacking mode in search for the equalizer...

Juve Real is the exact phrase of collapse as if it was a SF we would probably play much better - Our defense and by defense I mean the whole team defending status was simply horrible and gave lots of space - our attack wasnt great and it allowed Real to have great counters which was a very smart move from Zidane!
the 4th goal was after we were down to 10 men and the game was already over but even the 3 goals we conceded could and should have all been avoided. Real deserve credit for the type of game they played especially Zidane but it is no excuse for our embarrassing performance! P.S even if our defense play was horrible the worst case was the attack as our poor attacks were the key for their strong counters! Dybala - I dont even remember him touching the ball that game while Higuain was amazingly heavy and made me miss Morata! - If there`s one player I wish we had for this final from the players we had in the past its Morata - I really think that he could have made a big difference there..

Juventus played a great first half, except Khedira, and completely collapsed in the second half.

However, real wasent doing shit since they couldnt counter, and we kept nice in formation. Because we had absolutely nothing in the midfield, they ran straight to our box. The defence kept it out but you allow the risk of distance shots ending up in your net. Which happened to us with a huge deflection.

Add N'Zonzi or any destroyer, keep real from walking to our goal untill the team recatches its breath and push back when Real's pressure decreases.


Its that simple.

If we keep playing the 4-2-3-1 like Allegri has stated, then I am actually slowly siding with the fact that we sign a player like N'Zonzi. As good as players like Verratti and Tolisso are, we are lacking a DM destroyer to pair with Pjanic to offer some physicality in the middle of the park. Khedira and Pjanic offer very little defensively and barely seem to tackle. There are better DMs in the world, but very few that are available. Fabinho would be a wiser acquisition for the long term though, and more versatile.

Varratti and barca is almost done.
