I agree Howedes could be useful here. Yet it's not a supermarket that you pay a fixed price. Schalke publicly stated the player wants Juve, not generally that he wants to leave but he specifically wants us. It's a bargaining tool for Beppster, why would he let Schalke dictate the negotiations? Also, we don't know what alternatives Beppe has.
Bargaining tool? They don't have to sell. They could just keep him or sell him to liverpool instead. It's Beppe who needs a defender and refuses to pay a (if the numbers are true) absolute fair price in todays market. He better has another player lined up if this falls through...and it better not be some 3rd rate Genua player.

It's not a fair price in todays market. It's actually peanuts considering the quality.

Well I mean here we are spending roughly 20M/season net when clubs like PSG are capable of spending literally 20x that so let's buckle down and get used to lowballing semi-decent players on the last years of their contract.

Conti is already miles ahead of De Sciglio of the present or the past.

That was probably our biggest miss this summer.
What? Please stop evaluating players if you clearly haven't seen them play. You did the same with Bernardeschi in his thread. Conti was underwhelming at U21 Euro. He did have decent (!) season at Atalanta and boom! Miles ahead of DeS.

Oh, I'm sorry mister, I'm sorry I posted an opinion. I actaully thought that's how forum works, but no, you clearly have a mind that sees the future and mistakes that people write.

He had an underwhelming U21? So what? De Sciglio had underwhelming years at Milan ffs.

Also, he had a very good season at Atalanta, not just a decent one. Don't forget one thing: Schick had half of the season where he shined yet majority wanted him here.

How do you know Liverpool even made an offer or the player would be willing to go there? The only certainty is that we made an offer and Howedes wants to come.
Schalke don't need to sell but apparently Howedes has been very loyal to them so why would they make obstacles for him now to leave for his preferred destination? One thing is Germans no need to sell and ours no need to buy. Howedes is not a major upgrade over MDS or Liecht that we desperately need to go for him. Another thing is he's stronger as CB while we already have Rugani, Chiellini, Benatia and Barzagli there.

It's ok to have an opinion but you have nothing to back yours. Mind you, U21 should be easier for Conti because the players there are relatively weaker than in Serie A so Conti as a top RB in the league (in your opinion) should thrive there. Yet he was chaotic both in defence and in attack showing nothing more than a pace.
Schick is a different story because he's a forward, younger than Conti (I think) and had 12 goals in little minutes. Yet cost the same as Conti at the time.

So far our Mercato is a 6, with Spinazzola it would be a 5/10, 4 if we buy Andres, 6 if we just loan him.
However is a +2 for giving us extras options in Fielding a 3man defense and a RB that can defend.
So it could go from 6/10 to 4/10 or 8/10
Crucial moments for our Mercato!

They paid 25mln for Conti, no? Schick will go for 35-38mln.

Wonder why Schick move to Roma is still not closed. Maybe the boy still hopes for a call from Juve:shifty: Nedved was not present in CL draw (last season he was always there) maybe his pissed on the Schick situation.
