Just a reminder folks - don't just look at the transfer fee in determining the mercato. You need to include gain/loss of sale versus book value, amortizations and gross wage bills. Schick for instance even on a 30m transfer fee (5 year contract) is only getting paid less than 1m a year, meaning his annual cost 7m a year. Dani Alves for instance came on a free but was getting paid 4.5m net or 9m gross - that was still a great deal of course. Costa is going to cost the books 18m this year and then 20m next year if/when the buy out of his contract happens. Bonucci sale effectively boosts the P&L by 48m this year and 8m next year.

A Bernadeschi purchase of 40+5m bonus would cost us ~15m a year.

So based on my calculations.....if we finished this mercato buy adding Szcesny, De Sciglio, Matic, Bentancur, Costa, Bernardeschi, and Schick and then seeing: Neto, Bonucci, Sturaro, & Lemina leave - Based on rumors of valuations and wages, for FY18, Juventus actually SAVES ~15m in costs but then adds 35m in costs from FY19. To put that into context - the club generates around EU400m in turnover it is definitely manageable.

So squad could be:

GK (3): Buffon, SZCZESNY, PINSOGLIO
DEF (8): Lichsteiner, DE SCIGLIO, Rugani, Barzagli, Benatia, Chiellini, Sandro, Asamoah
DMs (6): Khedira, Pjanic, Marchisio, MATIC, BENTANCUR, Rincon
AM/SS (5): Cuadrado, COSTA, BERNARDESCHI, Dybala, Pjaca
ST (3): Manzukic, SCHICK, Higuain.

Total squad number of 25. Pinsoglio and Marchisio may be counted as home grown while Bentancur and Schick may be counted as B list players for the champions league. So perhaps we wouldn't need to make any exclusions. If we had to, Pjaca will probably not make the cut for the 1st half of the season given that he won't be back until October at the earliest.

Can't see us getting Matic. I think the surprise big buy will come from midfield. No not Kroos. But a certain bad boyyy from Roma.
Yeh I just put Matic in there as an example. Problem is Chelsea want 40m for a 30 year old who will command big wages. Emre Can is not for sale from Liverpool. Matuidi belongs to PSG purgatory with Juventus. Kroos won't happen. It seems that the top 3-4 targets we are after are quite difficult to achieve - at least the ones rumored by the press. Vidal homecoming would be nice! Sorry, just dreaming.

It seems we're getting Del Fabro from Cagliari.

I thought he'd be our 5th option but I guess not. They are offering 3mln + Del Fabro for Romagna. It might happen even today. But it seems we're gonna send him to Brescia afterwards.

Im starting to doubt our management
Bonucci 60M-80M Chelsea City - nope lets sell him to Milan for 40M
Rugani Barzagli Benatia replacements nope lets get Manolas who isnt as good as those 3 IMO and lets offer them Cuadrado - a player that could make a difference in their team - fortunately Roma rejected it..
The whole mercato is simply illogical - It seems like Marotta is trying to waste our budget and weaken us and then leave to Milan or something.. I really dont understand this mercato
RB - After all we were linked with it seems the guy we are getting is De Schiglio who is ok really add nothing for us..
CM - Kroos SMS nope we will probably get another Almiron or something..
Wingers - D.Costa is good but why are we keep insisting on Bernardeschi and Fiorentina`s high overrated evaluation instead of just go for a better player that costs half the price..
We want to win the CL and with this kind of mercato we wont do it..

It is more likely that we will splash our money on Mbappe and Verratti than get this certain bad boy you are talking about.. hell you can even add Neymar to the list

We're getting a kid for Primavera. Sandro Kulenovic.

Inter offering 50mln for Vidal.

QS saying we'll go after Belotti if we sell Higuain to Chelsea.

Inter ready to offer 22mln + 3mln bonuses for Keita.

People shouldnt sweat so much over the money spent tbh. Rather about adding quality to this team. Its not like its their money.

Or we just rejected a first offer :klin:

btw, I think it's BS, I don't see us selling him but hey... I didn't see us selling Bonucci that easily too.
U have inside scoop on Higuain busting up with someone?

I actually would take Belotti and sell Higuain. Its a long term signing and Belotti can become better, Higuain will turn 30 in months time. And doesnt win u CLs.

I sure hope that's not how the management decides transfers.

No, I honestly have no clue what's going on. I've been following mercatos for around 10 years but so far this is the weirdest one yet.

- Berna drama
- Schick drama
- Chelsea chasing Sandro
- Bonucci sale out of nowhere and now searching for someone
- Alves leaving and leaving our right side fucked up
- N'Zonzi and Matuidi links that just drag out, no mid player links
- Not singing an Italian GK to replace Gigi but Polak
- Getting De Sciglio and hoping we'd ressurect him here
...

who the fuck knows what will happen till September

What was the Berna drama?

Polak is just a backup option in case we cant sign Donnarumma next summer. I would also try to sign Oblak. But it might not be easy to sign. Clubs might milk us if its known fact we are in for Buffon replacement and are desperate. Polak had a good season with Roma. And Marotta likes serie a proven players so thats why.

Polak is not a backup option. You can get your ass he's here to replace Gigi once he retires and I see him getting many minutes this season as well. His wages are gonna be really high, so it only means he's here to play. No way he'd accept to sit on the bench, especially after Gigi retires.

Berna drama? We've been negotitating for a loooong time already and it's always a tomorrow in his case. 40+ bonuses, 35, 40+ Sturaro, meeting, collapsed deal, before the US tour, after, bla bla. It's the top story in the media for over a month imo.

Well, maybe you should chill and go out for a walk or smth. I havent been really drama about the Berna thing. We made some offers, its obvious that Fiorentina prefer full cash. We deal with cash + Sturaro or other random player. They want to get around 45-50m for him. But we dont want to overpay. And its Fiorentina. So its not going to be easy to negotiate that deal. But there is 1.5 month of the mercato left. And it seems the player really wants us. Otherwise he would be in Milan by now already lol.
