I remember when last summer Gomes was better than Pjanic according to some. Potential always beats a proven player on this forum. I'm sure there are many other examples of that too.
Therein lies the flaw with your argument. Proven? When? One solid season in the Bundesliga a great player does not make. I'm not going to count his performances in the Ukranian League, because it's weak and his team were like SS3 Goku fighting against a bunch of Krillins.

Okay just checked 7g and 18a in 15/16 season. 7g and 9a in 16/17 in 1900 min of football. Do you seriously mean thats a player without production?
Why do you only look at stats? Judging him by stats is so misleading. A player can excel in a few games per year, thus padding their stats.

Does Costa contribute against the big guns? Does he have an impact in important matches?

Bayern score a fuckton of goals against the likes of Hamburg and FC Carl Zeiss for example, so it could mean that your beloved Costa had 4 goals and 4 assists in those two games alone, which would then imply 3 goals and 5 assists for the rest of the entire season. Not so impressive now, is it?

Why not? I think Bayern are definitely willing to go all in this year. They don't fuck around.
I wish we'd do that for once, without selling our best players.

A Sanchez + Verratti Mercato would have been the dream for us. Alas, it's not meant to, and probably never will, be.

Do you know you are actually comparing 27 years old player with Rugani situation?
He's 26 and Rugani is 23 next month. Both aren't exactly youngsters anymore... Rugani won't be a starter next season either.

For instance Alex Sandro wasn't even a starter last season.

If Salah has such a major impact, maybe we shouldn't be so harsh on Costa...

Fullbacks and centrebacks absolutely cannot be compared agewise.
Cliché, nothing more. Kompany was at his best between 18-23... Chiellini and Evra are declining for a while now.

And if we're asking ourselves if someone being brnched actually is a parameter to go by, the answer is NO. Pirlo will tell you that.

Costa > Salah who has been amazing for Roma.

Performance in the belgian piss league dont count.
He completely failed at wolfsburg

In the league where stokes is a worldclass defender, he rediscovered himself, but his major flaws never got solved due to injuries and remaining in the league where stokes is worldclass.

Kompany has had a completely failed career on club and international level considering the talent he possessed.

Juve much more attractive than PSG

Marco Verratti’s agent has warned Paris Saint-Germain “money isn’t enough” anymore and that Juventus are a “much more attractive” proposition. PSG are unlikely to sell Verratti this summer, despite continued speculation linking the midfielder with the likes of Juve and Barcelona, but Donato Di Campli made it clear the French giants had to up their game or risk losing his client.

“Juventus will certainly do something special in the next transfer window,” the representative told Tuttosport. “Verratti? There’s the will of PSG to keep him at all costs. “Now it’s clear: money isn’t enough. Appeal is also needed, and in the last four or five years, the French club haven’t done enough to improve in that regard. “Juventus are much more attractive because champions are attracted to winning teams.”

Chiellini is still elite when he's actually on the field, how dare you put him in the same sentence as Evra
No he's not. He's a bit younger than Evra and hasn't declined as much but he's far from the top of his game. He had a good spell at the end of this season but he also left Cristiano unmarked in the final, twice... with the well-known result. He hasn't been the good old King Kong for a few years now, partially because of injuries.
