This guy is not worth to be together on training with Buffon let alone to rotate with him,16 m pounds and 3.5m pounds wage, there we go first big disappointment of the mercato
You say 16m is big disappointment for him when you keep crying 50m for SMS?

I don't get the long term planning for this GK signing, but he is clearly a very good goalie.

SMS is class while playing the number 8, Sczney is midiocre while playing number 1 and always will be, plus he is commanding insane wages for a bench player, we are wasting money while we need to invest that on OUR NON-EXISTING MIDFIELD

It's funny how we keep signing one of the "other top 2-3" keepers in the league and make them #2.

I expect he'll be sub this season, then if Buffon retires in 2018 as expected we'll sign another high profile keeper and let them battle it out like teams have done in the past. Let the winner take the spoils, etc.
Its possible we will sign one of the young keepers next summer if Buffon really retires, like Meret or Scuffet. But cause both are italian and "promising" there will always be that "is this the next Buffon, the next numero uno" so we also prepare that a 21 year old (Meret is 20, Scuffet is 21) might not be totally ready for a big club like Juve instantly so first season is settling in while Szczesny is starting potentially.

Some people here are just random haters who hate players who are not at Juve. Szczesny had a very good last season for Roma.

Im not sure if Donnarumma is really realistic long term. There have been some stories like he dislikes Juve and he made some negative comments about us. With their takeover and improvement, he might stay there or go to a Real/Man u in couple of years time.

You crying about his wage, while again advocating 50m for a young talent.

The pole is defenitely the type who is too good for bench so it will be peculiar to see what our plans is. His salary is hardly a raise I'm guessing, but what's necessary to make the deal.

And why do you assume some opportunistic GK signing has anything to do with midfield priorities?

Perhaps. Donnarumma is wishful thinking anyway.

As I've said, we'll persist with Szczesny until the next great Italian goalie talent emerges or we'll just look abroad.

Hardly a rise? Neto earns 2m while this guy will have 4m for doing the same job...Cmon bro we are speaking about goalie who is spending his careeer on loans, cause he is not even good to be the number 1 in Arsenal.... :sergio: Wish we sign SMS one day and watch you worship him later

This already is a waste of money, 16m + half the wages for a WC player ?? Why give Sanchez / Di Maria / James ~8m when you can flush 4 down the toilet just like that?

Szczesny has CL experience and has been a starter for two decent sized clubs. His transfer fee is more than fair for a player that will be a starter for us in a years time from now. We won't find another Buffon ever again but Szczesny is the best option to replace him I've seen mentioned thus far. Guys like Meret are nowhere close and it's still doubtful if they ever will be.

TBH €16m for a keeper of his level is a bit of a steal, what people are irritated about is going to be the "Buffon replacement" talk and the fact the money isn't being spent in other areas.

If we trade him for Neto plus 5-7 mil, the investment will be worth it. That move is only gonna be labeled as failure if we won't get anything out of Neto

His transfer fee is more or less ok,what is not ok is his wages, you cant get rid of that guy later cause noone normal wanna offer him 4m a year so we will be stuck with him like we were with Hernanes

Lets say we sell Neto for 15 which i doubt, reality is 10
Thats already 5 million difference, plus difference of 10 mil over 5 years in wages, thats 15 millions overall flushed for having the same level of the keeper

Yeah maybe the wages could be a bit lower but not by much. I think he is paid 3m at the moment so it's not a huge hike for him. Talk of not getting rid of him seems a bit premature as he hasn't even signed yet. You seem to be very absolute in your opinions I'd advise to calm down a bit and give him a change before branding him another :nanes:

And people who think signing Szczesny somehow affects our ability to sign a midfielder, really?
