:agree: We need some real reinforcements here.
Cuads is a damn fine player to come off the bench but not to start. We don't know shit about Pjaca or if he will be close to the same phyiscially.

Pacey wingers is a must but they can't be like straight line was. Mario should be used as a striker again

Mandzukic, Pjaca, Dybala, Keita, Higuain, Schick, Bernardeschi, Cuadrado is more than enough i think. and Costa is limited player from what i saw. left footed Cuadrado but without the fancy

Watch us spend 300mil this summer, 90 mil in winter, make it to UCL final. Lose vs whatever team in finals by 3 goals. :touched:
:agree:

Mantschester Juventus 3-0, Pogba 2x, James one. i can already see it

I feel that ZZ toyed with us in the first half. He treated the first half as a scouting/scrimmage session. His instructions may have simply been to sustain Juve's best punch which came in the first 10mins as a dominant side should expect in a match against a weaker opponent.

ZZ already knew what to do to win the match while walking into the dressing room at the HT whistle.
and they scored twice just at the right time when returning from the HT break, giving Allegri no time to come up with a counter plan. which i dont even know if he could, seeing how our bench looked like and how some of the starters performed

Nowadays the best defense is actually offense. Every foul is a yellow. Their first goal was 100% preventable but neither of our CMs wanted to make the tactical foul on Kroos during the counter and take an early yellow because just one more shaky challenge would produce a red.

Atletico and Juve have come up short in the CL despite having the best defense. It's better to defend with ball possession. It's better to keep Marcelo in his own half than to try and stop him in your half.

You don't go full BVB/Monaco/Man City but I wouldn't be against shifting a little more in that direction.

It is imperative that we identify a more clear formation before we act. We used 3 formations this year. 4-2-3-1, 3-5-2 and 3-4-3 in the later stages of the CL. It's good to have versatility but I'm not sure it was versatility as it was just Allegri searching (and finding) solution after solution.

My main concern is that Higuain and Dybala still don't look that comfortable together. Higuain in particular, was bought for 94M, because he played with outright wingers. And at Juve, that wasn't really the case.

We have a lot of good players still, obviously. But they don't naturally fit together. This season was saved because Mandzukic did everything humanly possible to produce from LM and because Dani Alves caught fire in the 2nd half.

I mean, to buy Higuain for 94M and then switch his service from Insigne/Callejon/Mertens to Mandzukic is literally the complete opposite type of player. I am not putting blame anywhere in particular because it worked out for the most part but we have to do better to fit our pieces together. I don't think it will work out so well in the future.
yes and they made fouls as soon as we win the ball, leaving us no time or room to attack them in transition. they didnt let us play at all, which we should have done to them too, seeing that our 1st yellow came after it was all over already (after the 3-1 iirc)

Just once I would love to see this team play with skillful, quick wingers.
One thing I hope we put to bed where the CL is concerned, is 'defence wins championships'

Sure, leagues yeah. But this is 1000000% not the case. If you play like Madrid play in the CL, your defence doesn't get tested much at all. The old school Italia method has failed us in finals time and time again. You take the game to your opponents in the CL final, or you $#@! off home.

We need one fantastic, rapid winger at least and a top CM. Preferably 2 wingers.

There's no $#@!ing excuse, spend the cash, we make it back. You can't keep weakening parts of the team and buying Rincon's to make it up to Allegri. Rincon. The short sightedness of that move. You want to win the champion league? Can Rincon aid you with that? No, can Lemina? No

please this.

Im all for keeping our compact style in defense... but for gods forbidden sake.... stop building teams to grind. Let the defenders defend... but if you want to score... buy players that can CREATE, that can pass , that can keep possesion and dominate teams. if we want to win direct games... we need difeerence makers, not average, not improvisation.. but proven talented players.

Plz, no more of this "win the CL for Buffon".I feel like it puts extra unneeded pressure on him
this.

fuk all else..i want the cup. period.

Enough of fantasy fairy tales and ballon dor drems...win the damn cup

:delpiero: Sometimes i want to kiss you.

cant agree more.

I think the fact that, once changing to winger-based formations, we stuck to those formations, despite our scarcity in that department (and also the type of players we've been linked with recently: D. Costa, Berna, Keita) is the indication of our desire to move to a winger-based formation once and for all.
So Gonzo's definitely gonna receive a better service come next season.
Definitely.

Also we need to remember that marotta was getting wrecked by the media before we changed formation and allegri bailed him.

Marotta is in depth with this team for not replacing properly some players, and allegri is in debt with us too for not setting in stone a clear plan in preseason and summer mercato....thats why we had to improvise the new formation.LALCK OF PLANNING.

I dont wat to see this ever again.

We reached so far with pure sheer will, but not because we were technically superior. I want this team to be technically superior to eevryone else, i dont want to depend on grinta anymore...i want to depend on technique and goals.

should have gave them more yellows for sure. Casemiro deserved one definitely off top of my head
Dybala was the first to get a yellow card for absolutely nothing. The only reason he was given it, was because he was made an example for others. That put us off in going in more than them. They got away with quite a bit. We then thought twice about doing any rough challenges until later in the game. worse of all that piece of shit sent of cuadrado for what was nothing. It's a shame really as obviously that sending off wouldnt have impacted the result but it justified Ramos and co dirty play. It was mind games from the start and they are so good at it.
