My issue with that is benching Cuadrado who is consistently one of the best performers.

I'd prefer something like this in that case:

-------------Higuain----Dybala--------------
------------------James----------------------
Sandro----------------------------Cuadrado
----------Marchisio-----Pjanic---------------
-----Chiellini---Bonucci---Barzagli---------
-----------------Buffon----------------------

or if we could by some miracle sign Verratti by only selling Pjanic:

-------------Higuain----Dybala--------------
------------------James----------------------
Sandro----------------------------Cuadrado
----------Marchisio-----Verratti------------
-----Chiellini---Bonucci---Barzagli---------
-----------------Buffon----------------------

I personally, would prefer to see Verratti there instead of Pjanic in this formation, just because with James playing so advanced, you need two strong #6s. Sure you could put Khedira with Marchisio, but Verratti offers much better ball movement.
with 3 CBs behind, i think Pjanic-Verratti would work very well. but we aint signing Verratti so it will be Pjanic-Khedira

you think once Marchisio is back to his best, he will be behind Khedira?
will that ever happen again though?

I personally don't see a problem with it. I think it would make us very strong in ball movement. But Italian coaches sometimes have a tendency to be a bit....well conservative.
well our coach isnt called EuroMaxx for no reason :klin:

Well he is 31...Body doesn't recover like it used to, and that is getting older for a midfielder, especially given his style of play.

I don't think it is impossible, but it is important to note he is 31 years old now. It's different if the player is 25.
I don't think that's so old for a modern footballer who also happens to be a top professional and has access to the best facilities. I'm sure he'll be fine.

Well see. Having good old Marchisio back would be as good as any signing, but I wont raise my hopes up yet. What I saw of him this season doesent allow me to do it
Yeah, we'll see. Anyway I don't find he has been poor since he's returned. He had 1 or 2 good games when he just returned, and otherwise he looks a little unfit rather than having lost something, so that's why I'm not worried.

I think on a tactical and technical level he hasnt lost much, he will be able to regain that. But he looks like he has lost a step physically, doesent seem to be as quick anymore, and at 31 years age, its less likely he will be able to recover that. Im pesimistic, but hopefully wrong too
