We all understand the accounting tricks. But there's other players we could sell if we wanted to. We could have sold Bremer for 70M for instance. Not saying we should though. If we sold Bremer would we just have to accept it because they did it?

At the end of the day, we sold Soule to help fund Douglas Luiz. That's what it really boils down to. In the long run, Luiz will cost us 30M net after the other players went to Aston Villa, so we basically traded three young players away for him.

Would the result be different if we regarded Soule as a better talent than he might be? Probably not, because regardless of who is in charge here, we always up selling or loaning young players. It's just what we do. I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up selling Yildiz next summer too. Interchange his name with Guler and it would be the same result as well. So the morale of the story is, it doesn't matter to many of us what the financing ramifications are. People are sick of this nonsense year after year.

We spent a lot on Douglas Luiz and he better put in consistent, world class performances, otherwise he will cost us huge in the long run.

It's undeniably a bad tactic in the long run. We're creating problems/payments for the future and therefor we have to up our game financially, which in theory should be doable be simple yearly CL qualifications to start with. While keeping everybody on lower wages...
Still, it's not very healthy to keep on doing this shit over and over again. Everyone is tired of this since it's year zero for the umpteenth time and it will be until we hit the mark financially and sporting-wise combined.

But we simply had no other choice (again) this summer because of what happened under the previous management (no need to recap all that shit but UEFA hurt us badly).

Selling our youth is something that must change as well but it's obvious why we had to. Our deadwood is too hard to move and we're trying to qualify for the CL. Selling assets like Bremer wouldn't be such a good idea. Vlahovic was already tried last year (because of his worth and his massive salary) but we failed and nobody wanted Lukaku anyway, lol.

I can just tell you I'm around it. I'm around youth hockey and kids aged like 6-13 are obsessed with Prime (and Logan Paul, KSI, and Speed). They all collect the bottles and it's just the cool thing to have.

I dont have their financial documents or know exactly what's going on with their business, but I see it with my own eyes.

Now, these are all mostly middle to upper class kids with parents that spend money. Is the average family that is struggling financially right now buying this stuff for their kids? I dont know.
