Getting rid of Chiesa doesn't mean we are losing that identity. JJ obviously should have a strong core of top Italian players but there is no basis for Chiesa deserving a raise based on what he's shown over the past couple of years.
Best attacking player is subjective when the attack as a whole hasn't really performed to their standards.
Sorry dude, but you guys love to mask his poor performances by pinning it on Allegri but don't hesitate to bash players like Rabiot who objectively speaking has been more useful than Chiesa in the past couple of seasons.
Funny enough, Rabiot is seen as a cunt for using the club as a leverage to get a better contract elsewhere, meanwhile Chiesa is doing the EXACT same thing, but nah, Chiesa is Italian so by default he should be your typical humble, loyal Italian player.
I hate this narrative of glorifying loyalty of Italian players over foreign players. On an average, yes, you can expect Italians to be more loyal to an Italian club(also because there aren't many great Italian players these days), but it's still a bit of an unfair generalization imo.
I only brought that up because you levied the Cronios nationalism criticism, otherwise it's not really relevant to the discussion tbh. Off the top of my head Fagioli got a raise for commiting crimes though, so there's that. Be regardless of raises, there were still players making more than him while having less of an impact. Even now there is still Vlahovic making more than DOUBLE his salary. Is that deserved? You can't keep looking at it in a matter of deserved or not, it's just not how it works. You'd be mad too if you had a coworker making that more more, asked for half, and were told no it's impossible.
The bold is sort of contradictory, no? If you remember our matches from last season where Chiesa was starting, our plan seemed to be give the ball to him, and have him run forward and try to dribble through 3 or 4 players by himself which is obviously impossible since he's not prime Messi. Then of course some Tuzzers would get mad at him and talk shit for this, but that's another issue. In no world has Rabiot been more useful though. More healthy, sure. Useful as he casually walks about the pitch and lets opposing players run through him, I disagree. But even then, we did issue him that whole "ultimatum" before the Euros to renew at the same wage, aka higher than what Chiesa is currently asking for, no?
No, Rabiot is a cunt for being a weak, lackadaisical bitch for all those years while being one of our highest earners, talking some bullshit about not seeing "the real Rabiot" yet in interviews. Physically blessed, but one of the laziest players on Earth, that is unforgivable to me. Using the club as leverage is the least of the issues, hell we all do the same with our jobs.
I would also say this last paragraph is also a bitch contradictory, they can't be more loyal and it also be an untrue generalization.
Speaking of loyalty though, I keep seeing the argument about how we were "loyal" to Chiesa while he was injured. How is that, exactly? By not attempting to rescind his contract or sell him for a huge loss? This club did nothing out of the ordinary on that front, Fagioli's situation would be an example of that.
would take him over koop. especially if fee is around 40m or less
No, €20-25 or so considering the circumstances. I'd love to have him back too, would add a whole new dimension to our attack that we've been sorely missing...well since he left.
I'd take Yildiz over Chiesa now in my team, easily. Yildiz is talented, much cheaper and on the rise, Chiesa has been going down for years now and he could've taken the same salary and an extension. That would've been a perfectly normal human choice...
Personally I think it's premature to be saying that, but regardless we'd still need both anyway to start opposite each other. I'd love to see that happen regularly too, it would be great to watch.

Delete this post and make it again when Yildiz shows consistent ability to have more then 1 goal and assist in a league season. He is young and I like him, talented player, give him time. But until he shows tangible impact and end product, we all need to chill on him.
He needs to prove he can start first and foremost, before even thinking he can compete with players like Chiesa who at their worst most criticised state is 2nd best scorer and attacker in the team. Player who created his own shots and finished.
Not picking on Robee, but it's wild how short people's memories are.
