Exactly, and the former doesn't make sense when you consider the latter. He's not making Dybala demands or to be the highest paid player or anything, it just really doesn't make sense to me. These days, no one is going to accept a pay decrease for the good of a company, I know we wouldn't.
Deserve? Who gives a shit about deserve? Do you sit down at the end of the year with your employer and say "gee whittakers, I surely don't deserve a raise this year." You're removing the human element from this and that's when things start to not make sense.
He also happens to be our best attacking player. He's fun to watch and could change a game, literally no one else that we have currently can do that. The last one was Dybala, whom I also loved. That was understandable with Dybala's demands, but we're clearly worse off without him, and we're about to do the same thing but for a relatively miniscule amount of money.
