It's just frustrating because we had all summer to find a solution yet we dropped the ball twice ( Calafiori / Tolibo)

We have now left ourselves in a position where we have to take a gamble on a potentially injury prone player and that is something we all knew at the start of the window that we could not afford to do.

We all had hope that we had learnt from our past mistakes but...

Here we are one week before the window closes, are pants are down and our hands are tied behind our back.
Don’t worry, Kalulu and Gonzalez are coming to the rescue, they’ll get us back on track with the JMedical bills.

Next will be the wing combo of SES and Saelemaekers to bring more joy to our long-suffering fanbase.
Saelamekers even sounds like a reasonable choice at this stage lol

We started the transfer window well but the closing has been underwhelming. Nico Gonzales is not Juve worthy , and buying another player from Fio especially one who is as injury prone as Di Maria makes me wonder. Top if off with a panic approach for Kalulu cause we never though of plan C if we didnt secure Todibo is so bad.

We aren't rumoured to him so not sure why you posting. But even if he is still young and a big talent. He is genuinely a cautionary tale of legit injury proness and the direct and physical effects its impact on his football. More then anyone else in top football right now. It has been going on for 3 years now.

It's a shame, because he really was looking like a big time talent that could become a high end player pre huge career altering injuries.

Defenitely stay away imo and only consider if he has a full healthy season again where he doesn't look scared to be tackled anymore.
I am posting because I think would be a good fit, not that there is any rumour.

Just a tought. Also Ferran Torres should be considered.

You cannot say it is bad unless you have a source and you can scientifically prove it is bad. Other than that the highest authority of the league of defenders of the club advice you to sit back and watch the show without any comments whatsoever. Unless you have something good to say then you are allowed to say it.

Big fan of Fati the talent. But the reality is injury has ravaged him more then any player I seen in past 5 years. Its kinda tragic a big talent became semi athletic cripple little to no fault of his own (especially when Barca didn't believe him and forced him to train injured years ago).

Yeah there are some good opportunities to be had in other teams rotational or backup options. Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid or even Liverpool.

I'm mentioning Liverpool because my dream is Gakpo, he is waaaaay too good to be just a backup player. Fantastic winger and fantastic 2nd option for CF.

Gapko will get more minutes for sure this season, no way we can get him.

No they didn't. The Adeyemi links are gone, not the Conceicao ones. They're very much alive.

Loan + obligation for Gonzalez, just like for Todibo while it's a simple loan + option being mentioned for Conceicao.
Even then we always needed 2 wingers not one, since we sold Soule and Chiesa won’t play. Didn’t Giuntoli know this? I get that Motta wants a ball playing CB to build from the back but what are we gonna do while Kalulu is getting back to form? Who are we going to play on the left wing?

Since 2005/06, Neto was a decent backup and Chiellini turned out to be a legend that melts my heart. But besides them all our signings from Fiorentina has been different degrees of pain. Melo, Miccoli, Bozhinov, Neto, Bernadeschi, Chiesa, Vlahovic.

I like Chiesa but he cost us 57m... Dusan 80m or whatever it was.

It's not much to go by since we rarely deal with Fiorentina, but if history repeats itself...

Nico come with loan + obligation. He scored a lot and effective for G+A as a winger. Not much upgrade winger that we can recruit with loan formula. Conceciao is not proven in Serie A

We used our budget for Koop, It would be difficult for everyone as GM if he can't ensure Tek (release wage burden), Chiesa, or McKennie to be sold first before buying. Todibo almost come if West Ham dont offer higher fee (€40m vs 35m) and higher wages (€4m vs 2.5m). So we move on and find other option, no need to regret

Yes, I'm talking about the first one here.

Left back, you mean? Cabal/Cambiaso?

I agree that the reason we going for Nico is only because of the loan formula. Not because he is a good player that is our main target for that flank . I guess you didn't watch him in playing for NT . In Vincenzo Italiano's attacking side it helps to stat pad for Nico. If its for the stats Orsolini is better but its about the loan deal. Just don't keep the hopes to high with him.

I’m talking about the whole plan not just for one position. We knew we need 2 wingers and a ball playing CB and an AM. After we failed to get a starter CB we are now planning to get a backup one because we’re getting a winger? We knew we needed that already. If we were ok with a backup CB why did we chase Todibo for so long? And if Gonzalez is expensive why did we approach Adeyami?
