It wasn't supposed to be a saga, but it has turned into one due to Atalanta keeping a firm position.The deal is closer to 60 million euros than 55 million euros.

He would be fantastic backup for Vlaho, promising 19 year old gunner, but as you said zero chance they will loan him out lol, only sell for big profit.

I only saw a few bits of him at the Olympics for Spain. We definitely need another forward, I don't trust Milik to stay fit when needed and Vlahovic can't do it alone.

I dont care about the price. If Koopmeiners is what Giuntoli and Motta expect him to be, whether he's €55 million or €65 million, it's going to be very expensive and it needs to hit.

If he's a star player for us, no one will care that we paid a few extra million.

If he doesnt live up to that hype, it'll be a disaster either way.

Hopefully it gets done, and Giuntoli/Motta were right in their assessment.

You're right he hasn't. He is worth 45 mill, 50 tops but this is what happens when we deal with other Italian clubs, price for us, its another for the rest. But we do really need him now, no time to find alternatives, although I thought Samardzic would be our plan B for some time now. Guess we're all in for Koop now.

Your point is 100% fair, minus Higuain always disappeared in big games. That's an unfair label attached to him for his time at Juventus. He had some massive goals in massive games here.

The Higuain signing was a mistake, but not because of his performances.

Olmo is good but Koopmeiners is the same age, has been more productive in a better league, and has proven to be more durable. If Olmo is worth 60 so is Koopmeiners

olmo is an easier sale for most fans as he's fancy af

tbh i also think that koopmeiners is a crazy purchase for that amount. and i kinda see the benefits of targeting him specifically. but for that money, so many alternatives. and you don't even have to think too much: calafiori + samardzic or koopmeiners + kalulu? for me it's easily the former two

The whole Atalanta team looked off pace in that final so not really the most relevant sample size i’d assume, especially considering that we also played our best game of the season that night despite coming from a series of complete shitshows from February onwards.
