He's not a WB currently so it could mean we plan to use him as the RW in a 4-3-3

We need a RW since Chiesa is a LW and Kostic is a LW. Who else can play RW with Cuadrado leaving? We even played ADM at RW last season. So clearly we need a RW if we play 3 attackers. Chiesa - Vlahovic - Weah.

Better on attack.

He's more of a winger on the right side, good with crosses, okay on defense but would probably struggle a bit as a WB.

he’s decent at both, could be better at offense tho

I'm imagine he'd be better as a RM where he can attack forward and defend backwards but not be expected to be the last line of defense on the right. But in the 4-3-3 world of football today, he's played as winger and doesn't exactly thrive there.

That's why he is pulled down further in the pitch. He is a kick and rush type of pace merchant. Lacks ball skills and end product with the ball in attacking phase unless he has space to get up in speed.



These are skillset that only works for fullback/wingback type. So if we are planning to continue what Lille already started, and what we did with Zmabrotta, move a struggling winger to wingback/fullback. Then I get the sense of this signing a little.


But if we are thinking of him as an attacking winger, prepare to be hella underwhelmed imo.


Even worse if we sign him and do something as crazy as sell Chiesa to Newcastle lol
