People are understimating Pjanic's quality. It's like everyone forgot how great he was for us.

Sure, he's not a wonderkid at this point, but having him AND another mid signing would make us look totally different and waaaaay better.

I think we'll see Pjanic + Locatelli/de Paul
He was great (or maybe good) 2.5 seasons ago. Since then he's playing like he's 40.

Why do you think we got rid of him in the first place? Or is it Sarri's fault he sucked so bad that season?

We made plenty of mistakes over the past 2-3 years. One of them was assembling this current midfield while Pjanic, our only player who actually had a brain, left the team.

I think we'd see him offer good performances. Dry loan would be amazing imo. Arthur is a useless player in my books, even 40yo Pjanic adds more to the team.

what’s funny is Pjanic was playing maybe his best ball of his juve career under Sarri in the beginning of the season. Then he just fell off HARD and has done quite literally nothing since.

I agree that we didn't adequately replace him when he left (don't we always do that?). If we find a buyer for Arthur, I'll accept Pjanic back on loan - but that won't happen. So we'll paying two bums to rotate their mediocrity.

Btw, I'm happy that Allegri is back but he got fired in 2019 for a reason. Let's not try the same recipe (Bonucci, Chiellini, Pjanic) and expect different results.

We should keep our feet on the ground, though. We're trying to re-build pretty much the whole squad. We'll need to replace pretty much whole mid, a huge chunk of our defense, new left back if we're planning 4 man defense, new goalkeeper and a reshape our forward line because Ronaldo is probably leaving.

Seeing stuff like "we should buy Saul, Pogba and Sergej is a dream land imo. 0% realistic choices. We'll have to settle with some decent/good buys in order to sign players for other position. I don't think we lack much to become a much better team, that much is already grated with Allegri who has coaching skills unlike previous disasters that we had.

Pjanic and de Paul/Locatelli are totally fine imo if we're signing some good LB. And I'd rather have that and gamble on Vlahovic rather than sign 1 mid and have unbalanced squad.

Technically he's a good player but his fitness seems to have left him.

Haven't followed him at Barca, but clearly he was a huge flop. What, they didn't let him play in his favourite position making 5 yard passes?

If we sign Locatelli Pjanic is completely unnecessary. We need someone for that CDM role. Locatelli seems to be the best candidate (he doesn't play there for Sassuolo but I don't think he'd have a problem with that role). If we don't get Locatelli, Pjanic is not the man to fill that position for a whole season.

If we want a free signing I'd prefer to get Calhanoglu

That guy plays more upfront, he won't solve what we need. We need somebody to pass the ball forward to that guy.

And I don't think Locatelli and Pjanic are similar. They'd do good if we have a DM/b2b there and I think Bentancur would do that job since he was quite solid under Allegri.

My feeling is that, Donnarumma is already a Juventus player. He seems too calm for someone who is 'unemployed.” (Giovanni Albanese)
The deal was probably made a long time ago, mutually. That's why he didn't sign with Milan. Even if they probably offered more.
Who wouldn't want to replace Buffon?
Great piece of work to get this boy. Our new number 99 for the next 12 years.
