You need to compare Kylian Mbappe transfer with CR7 transfer (both happen in the same season)
While Mbappe "only" get 18M euro per season, their transfer fee only slightly differ for 28M ( CR7 117M, Mbappe 145M)

That is the difference of 1 year +tax salary. And 2 years after that we will save another 23+28 =51M,
And we still have the opportunity to sell Mbappe for 200M to either Real or Barca after 3 years
Compare to let go of CR7 for free after 4 years
