Why would we do that? Benta was shit this season but I still think he would do good under a good coach. He was solid under Allegri and very good under Sarri.

*potentially, and that's a lazy calculation, since we usually get around 90m from the cl. but yeah, cl is an important resource, no two ways about it.

on the other hand, ronaldo is surely gone with no cl (~83m per season), and europa league provides some revenue too.

also, if uefa implement their new cl rules, we might be the best ranked european club to miss out on cl, so we could get one of the two wildcard places

60 million is more a realistic loss probably.

that would be a financial hara-kiri. his book value is still 45m and he's got how many years ahead of him? a half?

the only way i'd take him back would be on a bosman, and a pretty low salary (think ~2m), on a 2-year contract. he looks completely finished physically, i doubt he could play more than 30-40 minutes on a regular basis.
